Blogger at Work

People think blogging is easy. And maybe for some it is. For me, I wouldn’t say it’s easy (probably because I’m a bit of a perfectionist and get hung up in the details), but it’s definitely a labor of love.  I won’t go into all the details here… I’ve done it before, and if you blog you already know it; if you don’t, you probably don’t care lol.  But I’ve learned that beyond the skills of creating a look and a creative setting — catching a moment in time, if you will — are things like lighting, which can drive you mad! This blog is dedicated to a perfect solution for that, one that I am so thrilled to have found, & even prouder to be able to say that it’s by my newest sponsor, Salacity.

  • Outfit:  Apple Heart – Amanda Dress, a lovely & not so simple sundress. With a criss-cross wrap in front, & straps across the thighs, Amanda includes a HUD with 10 Textures/10 Colors/2 Metal Options where you can choose options for the bodice, the skirt, & the ribbons separately. Sized for Tonic, Slink P/H, Belleza V/I/F, & Maitreya.  Includes flat sandals with matching HUD for Slink, Belleza & Maitreya. A We Love to Blog Designer.
  • Skin:  7 Deadly s[K]ins – MissBehave worn in Caramel Browless, Natural (with my own freckles). MissBehave has a bit of an attitude & a bit of a difference… she comes in two options: lots of freckles or natural.  Discounted fatpacks — 250L for 8 tones — are available at the Designer Circle 08/19 April 14th – 27th.  Shapes & demos also available.
  • Lighting:  Salacity – Studio Lights.  One of the biggest challenges in taking fashion photos is getting the lighting right. You want shadows & a beautiful windlight, but you also want to be sure that what you’re blogging can be seen in the actual colors it comes in.  I had created my own little light source that definitely helps, but this set is a MAJOR step up. It includes a full range of lighting equipment based on what real life professionals use; these are active projectors, each set up to be exactly like its RL analog.  Each one has both an adjustable level of intensity (25%, 50%, 100%) as well as color (warm, cool, neutral).  For this particular shot, I chose the Single Spotlight & the Side Softbox, but there are several other pieces of equipment available as well. See below for a pic of what’s available. The fatpack for all the lights is L$250. They are also available in sets: Umbrellas, Spotlights, and Softboxes, each L$99.
