Halloween is not just about horror and screams and chills. There’s a whole other side of dressing up in costume, one of beauty, honoring characters and icons that have touched our hearts and minds in one way or another.  This is one of those Halloween outfits.  The second I saw it, I yearned to be able to say “I’m not bad; I’m just drawn that way”, and to toss my long wavy red hair away from my eyes as I sashayed across the floor in a very tight gown with operatic gloves.  It made me laugh, it made me smile, and with what’s been going on in my real life, that’s quite an achievement.  I almost ALMOST modified my body to create a wasp waist and accentuate the effect even further, but I decided that in this gown, I was hourglass enough with my “regular” shape.  Let’s just quote Jessica herself, and say that in wearing this awesome outfit, “You don’t know how hard it is being a woman looking the way I do.”  What’s so awesome is the fact that now you can. Uptown Girl, Shining Like Gold

I don’t often put on the glitz, but when I do, I just love it when it’s at this level.  Gold lamé is one of those things that can look somewhat trashy or really rich and elegant.  With Allure Couture, you know that you’re ALWAYS going to get the elegant side of things, her taste is always so dead on perfect.  Every little detail is just perfection, even down to the little golden apple that “holds” the gentle sweep of dark gold chiffon over the leg slit. A little bit of culture shock from yesterday’s urban grunge to today’s uptown sophisticated club scene, but that’s what life is all about, both of them! If you’re in the US, don’t forget to vote! 😉

The Torch Singer

I always feel like the star of the show when I get all dressed up in an Allure gown. Maybe it’s the style, maybe it’s the fit, maybe it’s the textures, maybe it’s all that and more. When it comes right down to it, the reason why doesn’t really matter; I just know that I always look great and feel great, whether standing on the side lines, dancing with my guy, or caught in the spotlight.  Personally, I haven’t found ANY other gowns that offer this quality for my Tonic curves without resorting to Omega… and it doesn’t hurt that they always come with matching shoes lol!  This sexy cut-away style in this pose just evoked thoughts of an old-style torch singer, about to sing one of my all-time favorites, At Last. (Please note: although the Mia Gown obviously enhances my Tonic curves, I DID need to tap on the Tonic alpha hud for the belly; your individual shape may not need that, but just in case, know that it was a super-easy fix.)
