Wow, talk about difficult, complicated posts. In a lot of ways, fashion blogging is simple… you generally have one or two items that you’re featuring, and the rest helps create the look and/or the scene. But blogging a building? Much more complicated, because you want to look beyond the “box” itself, and try to show the spirit by creating one possible look. And when creating that scene starts involving home decor and even fashion to make it all real, well, then it really becomes a challenge. I really REALLY wanted to do my best here, because everything involved in this post is truly exceptional. I truly hope I’ve done it all justice, because I honestly love the build and absolutely everything I’ve placed in it. The possibilities are endless; I hope that my efforts have successfully illustrated just one…
The scene:
- House: MAke a MArk – Japanese Bungalow 3. I really can’t say enough about this incredibly-styled build (see below for the full pic). Includes the two skylighted rooms joined by a central gallery with flagstones & a wood slat back wall, side garden walls with open doors to the outside, grass ground with stone walkway to those doors & two uplights, front garden section with bamboo on the sides, stone sections, rippling water sections, & a center wood walkway. Self-rezzing box, so it’s easy to set up & move to where you want it. Perfect for home or shop. On sale for a 50% promo discount EXCLUSIVELY at the upcoming round of the 4 Seasons Event, opening August 15th.
- Decor: Evolving Images – I’ve used so much from this amazing Asian collection, I’ve had to bullet it & include separate pix below. All sold individually at the August round of the Swank Event, open August 7th – 30th.
- EXCLUSIVE – 3 statues with bamboo & lantern (candle turns on/off by touch)
- Asian Gong – two versions. The large one — Asian Gong 1V — is in the pic above; the smaller one — Asian Gong 2V — is shown below. Both sound a gong when touched.
- Bamboo Fountain Rock Garden
- Buddha Rock with Candles (candles go on/off by touch)
- Asian Chests – I’ve shown 3 of the 5 chests & cabinets available; the doors open & close on all of them
- Katana Swords – I’ve shown both of the two displays available
- Asian Wall Hanging Orange Tree V – beautiful 5-panel wall art
- Bonsai Old with Lantern – one of three bonsai arrangements
The look:
- Head, Skin, Makeup: LOGO – Willow. I’ve always felt that Willow has the most delicate, perfect features, so I naturally went to her to create my pseudo-Japanese look. I also want to reiterate that LOGO offers what I consider to be the most fabulous head system I’ve found (& I’ve tried a lot of them lol). I created my own makeup look by layering just a little bit of what’s available in that system. Demo available.
- Dress: Skindustrial Bodyworks (SKBW) – Kawaiimono in GoldAqua. Definitely not a traditional kimono, but with enough of the look incorporated to be totally recognizable as Japanese-inspired, I felt that it was perfect for this scene. Exceptional styling to add a bit of the exotic to any occasion, any setting. Available in 7 totally different textures, it’s sized for Tonic, Slink HG/P, Belleza F/I/V, Voluptuous, & Maitreya. EXCLUSIVELY available at the August Swank Event, August 7th – 30th.
- Body: Slink – Hourglass Mesh Body Original, Full Version including Hands (Dynamic) & Feet
- Hair: Tukinowaguma – Ayane
- Jewelry: Chop Zuey – Child of Song Demi-Parure Earrings, Bel Aire Gold Women’s Wedding Band
- Pose: Kirin – Kimono Poses #3
