Sometimes that’s all it takes, isn’t it?  Just that little extra effort, that extra touch, that extra endearment, just going beyond as it were.  Everyone — and everything for that matter — craves a just bit MORE… what that “more” entails varies greatly, but going above and beyond just a wee teeny bit really doesn’t take a lot of effort, just a bit more mindfulness.  And the benefits can be, well, extraordinary.  There’s no guarantee of course, but that little extra effort doesn’t take all that much, now does it?  I am trying to remind myself of this daily, multiple times a day… and hoping that it becomes more of an automatic thing as opposed to having to be a conscious thought.  But either way, it’s worth it!!!  Happy shopping!

Do you ever feel like you’re just stumbling around in the dark? Sad to say, I’ve been feeling that way since returning to my life as a fae after a journey to foreign lands.  I can’t quite put my finger on it… I just feel like I’m a step or two behind, not quite in the light, arriving that moment too late.  Everything feels just a little bit off, without my being able to quite put my finger on it.  I feel like my pix are suffering from it… I do a shoot, I’m sooo happy, then I look the next day (which is something I try to do every time) and I’m like “what was I thinking” and I start all over again… Sighs… I know that re-entry can be tough, but this is FANTASY FAIRE… I wait for this all year, and yet I can’t quite seem to catch the energy … it’s like walking into the party just as everyone else is leaving…  sighs…  Well, at least I can say that I am definitely shopping with a purpose!  Even if I’m having trouble catching the vibe as it were, I’m definitely enjoying the shopping.  Have you checked out the Fantasy Faire Shopping Guide?  The Faire is just so big, it really helps you discover must-have items that you might otherwise miss in your wanderings…  Here’s more of what I’ve found and just had to have!!!  For now though, the moon has set, and my time at the Faire is done till tomorrow… where is that Goddess of the Dawn?  Oh well, Happy Faireing!

  • Wings:  Fancy Fairy – Kira LITE Bento Fairy Wings, worn with a Lotus BOM layer which is exclusive to Fantasy Faire for the duration of the event.  The mesh wings (sold separately) are beautifully flowy in design; the set includes 3 sizes with basic AOs for each. What I found to be unique is that the wings themselves are “skeletal” & then you can purchase addon texture sets (two textures are included with the wings), as well as Animation HUDs.  I’ve used the LOTUS BOM pack, which is exclusive to the Faire for the duration of the event. I’m all in a flutter and a bit stressed out… I’m leaving on Thursday for a few days to celebrate my hubby’s milestone birthday in New Orleans (AND we managed to snag a day ticket to Jazz Fest!), AND Fantasy Faire is starting then too (and my alternate ego, Thea, is an official blogger for this event that she waits impatiently for the entire year!).  A walk through nature, just pausing to soak up the sun and enjoy the spring breeze is exactly what I need to calm down and recharge my batteries… mmmmm… enjoy!

Life is so busy right now, and I can’t really figure out why.  Tons of doctors appointments, while we still try to figure out exactly what is going on with my leg swelling up and doing a pretty good imitation of a tree trunk, and then the prep for going away for a long weekend to celebrate my husband’s milestone birthday.  Despite that and my itchy eyes (everything is blooming!), I’m loving the spring, both IRL and here on the grid… I just love what some people do with their sims (I just stumbled upon this lovely scene, following an old LM)! Well it’s been an exciting time IRL… my son just got engaged to be married!  It’s been a long time coming, I’ve been one of those annoying mothers asking when it would happen since I knew he’d bought the ring several months ago.  We absolutely adore our daughter-in-law to be; in fact, we’re going away with the two of them for my husband’s upcoming milestone birthday in a few weeks (and no, I’m not telling WHICH milestone lol)…  All this excitement has proved to be a bit of an obstacle in terms of my blogging, but now I’m back in the groove!!!! Ostara… I’m so happy to once again be an official blogger for “her” special fantasy event here in SL, Ostara’s Altar (a Dark Passions event), full of designer exclusives PLUS a 25L egg hunt.  I research EVERYTHING (including perfume lol), so to satisfy my curiosity about who Ostara was and why she has her own celebration,  I discovered that Ostara is basically a modern pagan holiday, celebrating the spring equinox which officially marks the beginning of spring and the awakening of nature.  Named after the ancient Germanic goddess Ostara or Eostre — who was associated with the dawn and new beginnings —  this is a time of rebirth and renewal when the natural world awakens from its winter slumber.

My favorite story about Ostara involves the origin of the Easter Bunny, where she transformed a bird into a hare (how? why? who knows?), and the hare responded by laying colored eggs for her festival.  Is this how the Easter bunny and the decorating of eggs began?
