Life is so busy right now, and I can’t really figure out why.  Tons of doctors appointments, while we still try to figure out exactly what is going on with my leg swelling up and doing a pretty good imitation of a tree trunk, and then the prep for going away for a long weekend to celebrate my husband’s milestone birthday.  Despite that and my itchy eyes (everything is blooming!), I’m loving the spring, both IRL and here on the grid… I just love what some people do with their sims (I just stumbled upon this lovely scene, following an old LM)! And the spring clothes… lovely, absolutely lovely!  Happy shopping, or whatever you do inworld!

Well it’s been an exciting time IRL… my son just got engaged to be married!  It’s been a long time coming, I’ve been one of those annoying mothers asking when it would happen since I knew he’d bought the ring several months ago.  We absolutely adore our daughter-in-law to be; in fact, we’re going away with the two of them for my husband’s upcoming milestone birthday in a few weeks (and no, I’m not telling WHICH milestone lol)…  All this excitement has proved to be a bit of an obstacle in terms of my blogging, but now I’m back in the groove!!!! In a strange mood indeed… my expected company was due to arrive tomorrow (WAS being the operative word), and all normal activities were suspended in order to provide entertainment, etc… and they just canceled because of the problems at the airports.  So now today is chock full of things that are normally spread out over days, but in order to accommodate, etc., well, you get the picture.  And though I completely understand, I’m annoyed… partly because this is the 3rd time in a row this particular visitor has canceled last minute.  It’s family, and someone we welcome, but still…  Oh well… shakes it off and starts getting ready to deal with an errand and appointment filled day, and then off to a concert tonight with one of my (if not my top) singers… trying so hard to focus on THAT… takes a deep breath and another cup of coffee… and I’m off!

I’m a bit late in posting this (the event closes tomorrow), but I’ve had a really rough few days.  Here I am, planning to shoot this adorable kitty-cat outfit when my own kitty, suddenly out of the blue, stopped eating,  and crawled into a corner he’d never ever been in.  A few hours later (about 1A) he started screaming and writhing intermittently, reminding me of when I passed a kidney stone a few months back.  Sadly, the urgent vet care near me closes at 11P, so all I could do was lie there on the floor with him, stroking him, talking softly, and just being there.  Eventually I fell asleep for about an hour, and when I woke, he was gone.  It was a hard death because it was obviously so painful, and I was so distressed my body went right into some kind of stomach reaction (food poisoning maybe?).  Bottom line, blogging was just not the priority.  But I’m back, missing my Rudy (see him below), and posting this shot in honor of my boy…

I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day.  It just seems to be one of those overly commercialized days, creating a desperate “need” to both give and receive cards, flowers, candy, jewelry, etc.  How many tears have been shed over the lack of having a Valentine? I know how many I personally shed when I was a teenager and young adult.  So no, I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day.  But love?  I’m definitely a romantic at heart, I just don’t believe that it has to be so regimented…. loving and being in love (which really are two separate things) should be natural and personalized, demonstrated in small and meaningful ways ALL the time, not just on Feb 14th with “surface” expressions.  But still, Valentine’s Day deserves an acknowledgement, and hopefully it reminds us all of the importance of love in this world that is increasingly hard.   Love is all around us, all the time, even if it’s not right there, shouting, like it is on this specific day.  Happy shopping!
