I’m not big on blogging Halloween costumes, probably because my alt (Thea) is a fantasy avatar and can therefore be considered to be always in costume (in fact, that’s how her life began… I wore a fae costume for Halloween and fell so in love with having wings that she was born).  But sometimes a costume is so unique, so compelling, that I just have to make the leap! It’s been so much fun wandering the grid in full Mourning Veil! Happy Halloween season, enjoy!

I don’t do a lot of close-ups, but occasionally a look — and the items used to achieve it — just demand that the camera moves in.  I find the lighting in a closeup to be particularly challenging since you want to be able to see everything clearly without the light actually obscuring the details.  I hope I’ve achieved that aim, this jewelry and makeup are just so gorgeous! Since we’re all in SL, then I can probably safely assume that we all enjoy games in one way or another (although I’m sure some will debate whether or not SL is a game per se).  Me, I love a wide variety of games across a broad range of categories.  In fact, my partner and I regularly play several of the card/board games available here in SL, with Cheesy and Hand&Foot rating as the current favorites.  IRL, I love mah jong and golf, with a bit of pool and ping pong thrown in.  But I’m pretty much game for trying most things.  So whatever games YOU like to play, go and enjoy!!!!  And if you see me around at one of the SL gaming sites, be sure to say hello!

The scene is set, everything is ready, and there’s really nothing more I can do.  I’m kind of at that point IRL too, though in a completely different situation.  My computer/Flickr/blog issues are not resolved, which is hindering my progress as I keep expending tons of time and energy trying to fix it.  At this point, I just have to let it go — again — and get my post out.  Time just keeps ticking away, and I keep finding myself up against the wall.  And after all, tomorrow is another day, and I plan on enjoying it fully.  Hopefully, you will too!  Happy shopping!!

Fashion photo shoots can go one of two ways… incredibly quick, where everything just clicks… the setting, the pose, the lighting… all that remains is playing with the angles and other finetuning details (more lighting, body adjustments, etc.).  And then there are the ones where you struggle, and nothing seems to be right… where you change locations/backdrops, poses, and so much more.  My last post was a tough one, maybe because it was the first one back after 3 weeks of non-shoots, not to mention there are issues with my website (which still needs to be resolved, but I’m just not letting it bother me at the moment).  THIS one went incredibly smoothly… which of course makes me doubt it LOL.  But I’m learning to just go with my gut… it’s not always right, but in the end, it’s really all I have to rely on!  Enjoy!!!!

It’s been a few weeks since I blogged… for the whole week before leaving on a 2-week vacation, we had no internet, no WIFI, no TV… turned out that a lightning strike destroyed our cable line.  Just one of the hazards living in this area of Florida, which has been called the lightning capital of the US.  On top of having that quality I DON’T want, I also DON’T get much a change in seasons (though the temperatures do surely drop), and oh, do I miss it!  All those glorious colors!  To my mind, this outfit captures that gorgeous gold of fall — not TOO gold or sparkly, just golden enough — combined with the white shorts of summer… absolutely perfect for this transitional time!  It’s so good to be back!!!!

Signs and sayings are not usually my style, but sometimes you just got to own it, right?  Since I’m recovering from some oral surgery IRL, every little bit of attitude helps lol!  Happy shopping!

  • OUTFIT:  WILD Fashion – Zinnia.  For such a simple concept — a bow-shaped tube top, short denim shorts, optional puff-banded sleeves — this is quite a WOW outfit! I immediately knew that for me, the sleeves were NOT optional, they were an absolute.  But with so many texture choices on the top –colors, patterns, fabrics — & then again on the shorts (it’s a 180 texture HUD!), I kept falling in love with a look over & over again. Travel just isn’t what it used to be… I’m definitely dating myself, but I remember when travel was fun.  Before all the security.  Before cascading delays.  You showed up half an hour before your flight, you were good.  My favorite was the old Eastern shuttle between Boston and NY.  You got to the airport, you filled out a slip of paper, and you were on the next flight (they were every hour and you paid on the flight).  If a plane filled up, it took off and you took the next one.  That was also before they charged you for every little thing… you want to bring a carryon? That will cost.  You want to choose your seat so you can sit with your child or lover or spouse?  That will cost.  Delays happened of course, mostly due to weather, and I do remember getting caught all the way across the country during a strike, but it was so unusual that it became an adventure to get home.  Travel in general just wasn’t so exhausting and frustrating as it seems to almost always be today.  I was very fortunate on my two recent trips by air… on one trip, we were only delayed on the way home… it was more than 4 hours, but we were heading home, which is somehow more bearable than when heading to your destination where you have PLANS.  And on our last trip, we had smooth sailing on BOTH ends despite huge warnings about backups in getting through security… what a delight that was!  But easy travel shouldn’t be unexpected… the DELAYS should be unexpected, not the norm.  Patience is definitely a requirement in today’s world if you want to actually go somewhere.  If only we could teleport IRL!!! Just imagine that… (I know that I do, every single time I travel lol)!
