It’s very strange… I’m a city girl, born and bred, but I’ve lived in suburbia for all my adult years.  In all that time, it’s always been my understanding that birds — with a few notable exceptions like owls — sleep at night.  It’s obviously been a pretty false understanding because there are a LOT of birds here in Florida who appear to have different bedtimes… NOISY birds, who are sometimes making a racket in the trees at 1A or even 2A.   I’ll admit that when we first moved here and I was walking the dog after dark, it would kind of freak me out when those sounds would follow me… my imagination would run wild and it would almost feel like I was being stalked by something out there in the dark.  Now of course I’m used to it, but wow, these birds can be so loud in those wee hours that I’m shocked more people aren’t up (like me).  But then I’ve always been a nightbird (and I guess those squawkers are where the expression comes from lol)…  Happy shopping!

OK, I try not to yield to hyperbole, but wow, I have to say that IMHO this look is smokin’ hot (and yes, a pun IS definitely intended)!  I should also say that I was rather shocked by how absolutely amazing this style makes me look… or perhaps I should say how it makes me feel, which was totally sultry and confident and, well, just at the top of my game.  I would also add that my partner agreed wholeheartedly with my evaluation (as did one or two strangers who IM’d me when I was out shopping the weekend sales).   Needless to say, this is one outfit you should definitely check out for yourself, if just to see if it makes you feel as amazingly awesome as it does me!  (Wow, just noticed that this whole paragraph has been almost nonstop exclamation points lol… and here come two more lol!)  Happy shopping!

Fiery Fae

I generally think of being “fiery” as being angry or vindictive or deep in warrior mode, but in this skin, I’m realizing that “fiery” can also mean super-charged! I am somewhat befuddled today, however, and so many thoughts are tumbling through my fae brain without any coalescing enough enough to share… so I’m just going to go live in my new skin for a while, take advantage of all that energy and just stretch my wings, fly away and explore all that’s new, all that’s changed, and all I love that thankfully is still there, awaiting my pleasure…  Enjoy!

  • Skin:  Petrichor– Amatheia Summer Skins.  One of an absolutely amazing trio of skin tones released for the Skin Fair, open March 10th – 27th.  (See below for the ad showing all three variations).  Including both male & female versions, these are just the first tones of a full rework of the Amatheia skins, with new bases, new colors, Standard BOM (Evo) & EvoX support along with stand-alone markings on tattoo layers.  As always with Petrichor, the detail is staggeringly beautiful, even down to the tatt for my EvoX ears! The Sophisticate

Putting on this outfit definitely created an “ooh la la” moment for me… I just felt so sophisticated, a bit mysterious, ready for hobnobbing with celebrities and visiting only the most fashionable places reserved for the elite…  It’s a fun feeling, and for me personally, a large part of that comes from the hat.  I LOVE hats, though having thick curly hair IRL I’m definitely not a fan of hat hair lol! Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about that on the grid, or about it blowing off… I just get to enjoy that air of definite sophistication!  Happy shopping!

Queen of the Road

OK, I’ll admit it… I was a little intimidated when I first mounted the Ripper.  But I also have to say that it did not take that long at all for me to get comfortable riding like the wind (barring a crash or two or in one case skidding right off my platform lol) and becoming Queen of the Road! One of the things I was most impressed by was that Badger includes two models based on the size of the rider, which means that a smaller avatar (in other words, most females!) didn’t look “wrong” on the bike… with the built in adjustments I was easily able to move my body where I could both sit with my foot on the gas and my hands on the handlebars.  It also includes seating for both the driver AND a passenger, so you can share the ride!  It even has a paint system built in, so if you prefer something other than the classic black, there are four other fabulous choices just by clicking through the menu (be sure to have Advanced Lighting enabled since all their vehicles use materials for the shine and sometimes other textured surfaces as well).   In addition to the driving anims (which are easily adjusted), there are ones for when you’re sitting to appreciate the view that your bike has allowed you to reach (I’m using one of the built-in anims).  The menu also includes a plethora of other options I sadly just haven’t had a chance yet to explore due to real life interruptions.  Be sure to check it out!

A Fashion Look

http://A Fashion LookSo I keep double-thinking, which is really a pain in the you know what.  I fell in love with this shirt the moment I saw it, and I just adore how it looks (and I’ll admit it, how it makes me FEEL).   I wore it as part of a double-product shot with something non-fashion (a shot you’ll see tomorrow!), but when I reviewed those final shots, I felt that the top needed to be seen better and closer.  After all, when I just recently combined fashion with home decor, I was asked if I could do a cropped version to focus more on the fashion (and on the books!)… it was a good reminder that it was important to do full justice to both types of products when combined,  I therefore did what I call a straight fashion shot (which I generally try very hard NOT to do) to use as a second shot for just the post… and then I liked the shot so much I decided I wanted to upload it too!  BUT I also know that when I post two pics together, neither one gets as much exposure as it should, which I feel is not doing my job for the sponsors.  And on top of that, I got highly distracted last night by my partner’s birthday which we were celebrating inworld.  Bottom line, one blog post has now become two.  I hope you like them both! And this girl is off to do her weekend shopping! Enjoy!
