We all have dreams. What we want to be, what we want to do, how we want to live, who we want to share our lives with. And as life goes on, with all its ups and downs, those dreams change.  After all, we all have dues to pay. But even in the harsh light of reality, dreams are a necessity… they are what keep us getting up each morning, and moving through each day.  We need to have dreams in our hearts and minds… big dreams, little dreams, realistic dreams, fanciful dreams, it doesn’t matter… they’re all important in their own way.  They fuel our lives, they are the energy behind everything we do.  So yes, you need to face reality, you can’t live with your head in a dream, but that doesn’t mean that you give up on your dreams.  After all, to quote Disney (and the pillow!!), “A dream is a wish your heart makes”… so let’s all DREAM ON!!!  😉

I started a new job this week. It’s part-time, EXACTLY what I was looking for (yay!), and just 5 minutes from my house.  It’s almost as if my job wish came true, it’s such a match to my checklist of what I wanted. This week I only did a fraction of what will be my normal hours, but after not working outside my home for several years, wow, the weekend feels wonderful! I wouldn’t go so far as to say I’m living for the weekend (been there, done that, thank you very much!), but I will admit that today all I want to do is lie around and daydream.  Unfortunately, this girl this has lots of blogging to work on… not to mention taxes to prepare on my OTHER business… SOOOO happy we don’t have to prepare taxes in Second Life lol!!!!  Well, enough chatter… I’m just going back to daydreaming now, all about all the wonderful things in both lives!  😉

Skin & Gin in the Moonlight

I’m a lucky blogger in that I’ve managed to arrange things so that I’m never told what to blog… yes, I have minimums to meet for every sponsor within certain time frames, but other than that, I choose what to blog.  Sometimes that’s a problem because I like so much it’s hard to choose; before I got my Slink Physique body, sometimes not enough was available to fit my body; other times, not enough falls into my taste range.  And sometimes I really love an outfit but the body (the template) is the same as one I’ve blogged before.  That’s when I have a bit of an inner struggle, to blog or not to blog, but if the designer’s interpretation of the basic body is completely different, and the textures are to die for, then the outfit is a completely new experience and truly deserves to be blogged.  And that’s the case with today’s dress… yes, I blogged the “template” previously for a dress I absolutely adored… and now this one has swept me away with a totally different look and feel.  Neither one is better than the other… each is marvelous in its own right.  Today’s dress is available in both black and silver; the silver just swept me away… I tried to capture its sheen, but it’s one of those things you really need to see for yourself… as for me, well, right now moonlight and martinis seem like a pretty excellent combination to me! 😉

Soaking in the Green

Maybe it’s because in Real Life I seem to have the kiss of death when it comes to indoors plants, but in Second Life I’m always surrounding myself with green growing things. In addition to being huge on landscaping, I bring a lot of greenery into the house as well, which is why I was just thrilled to find all these plants (and the ottomans and table too!) on sale for this week’s Syndicate Sunday! It’s just so soothing and replenishing to the soul to be surrounded by green growing things while winter is still having its wicked way outside the window… I only wish I could do the same here in Real Life, but the plants just aren’t as hardy as those in SL!!!  😉

On Wings of Fancy

One Second Life Halloween, many years ago, I dressed up as a fairy. To my surprise and delight, it was SL-life-altering… I loved having wings so much that I ended up creating an alt and role-playing as fae. Whereas I myself remained human, my alt was a magical creature of the woodlands — white hair, pale skin with glamorous facial tattoos, elven ears, and oh, a whole wardrobe of beautiful wings and medieval/fantasy clothes. She even had her own treehouse home that she shared with her elven prince (my partner’s alt).

Well, those days are long gone (I’ve been in SL now for more than 12 years!), but these absolutely stunning BENTO wings brought those wonderful memories of living a true fantasy life rushing back.  The colors when the light hits them are truly magical… perfect for playing tag with the butterflies and indulging in flights of fancy!!!! 😉

Spirit of the Dragon

I’m honored to say that I’m a Guardian of the Spirit of the DragonRFL, a Relay for Life group that has already earned its SILVER SHIELD, even though we just had our opening day last weekend. RFL is such an important cause, both inworld and in RL, and I’m proud to be able to do my small little part to help the effort.  This post is just the beginning… I’ve used our sim (which was graciously donated to our team by Chateau d’Alliez) for this photo shoot… it’s an absolutely stunning sim, with so much to see and do, both to help and support cancer patients and caregivers as well as to just see and appreciate.  Our first big event is tomorrow, Sunday March 3rd, when we will be opening our sim at 12P SLT with a photography exhibit in the Reflection Gallery showcasing Dusty Pedroia with the vocal stylings of Djembe Dragonfire. The opening continues at 4P SLT with a “Bring Your Kiosk” multi team event. DJ Tiggy, DJ Striker and DJ Robobobby will be spinning the tunes for us! …   Wow, my brand-new dress from Moz Designs couldn’t have been launched at a better time! It’s the exclusive for the upcoming Curves Event, which ALSO opens on March 3rd.  Big day on the grid for curvy dragons like me! 😉

The Blogger Blues

This must be my week for troubled shoots, but only because I keep getting in my own way.  Once again, I put together a look I love pretty easily, although I admittedly had some difficulty choosing which color set to wear.  I  even bought a special pair of shoes (which I ended up not even using)!  Then I found a new sim and spent quite a bit of time shooting at three different locations with three different poses, loving the results at one (which, of course, did not even show shoes because of tall grass lol).  Was going through all my shots to pick my windlight when I received a new release of the most awesome little slouch boots that were just perfect for the outfit!  I didn’t know whether to close my eyes and pretend I hadn’t noticed, and just go with the shot, or redo.  Never being one to take the easy road, this morning I went back to the sim, found a new location, and did a whole new shoot.  Once again, to me the results are worth it, but why oh why, does it have to be so tough this week????  Sighs, singing the blogger blues… Enough with February… next month’s shoots will be smoother, that’s a promise to myself!  We’ll see if I keep it lol!  😉

  • Outfit:  1 Hundred – Dearest Cardi Set, which includes the button-down cardigan, adorable plaid mini-skirt, & matching panties (I LOVE when a designer thinks to include panties, it makes life so much easier).  It really is adorable without crossing over into “too cute” territory. Quiet Confidence

The minute I saw this outfit, I knew I wanted to blog it. And the look came together so easily, it was like a dream… but the shoot!!! OMG, talk about a nightmare. I know it’s my own fault… I get an idea in my head, and sometimes I just can’t let it go. This outfit immediately spoke to me of competent young professional… that air of quiet confidence when you feel totally secure that you not only know your stuff cold but you look damn good doing it.  And yet I couldn’t find a pose I liked or a venue/backdrop that worked, and I searched EVERYWHERE. I got sidetracked and spent time doing a shoot as a schoolteacher in a classroom; I ended up with a really good shot, but it just wasn’t quite sitting right and I wasn’t happy. Then suddenly the PERFECT pose dropped in my inbox, and there I was, reinvigorated to go back on the hunt, widening the search to include a conference room.  Suddenly, Marketplace to the rescue! Personally, I’m thrilled with the result… it may not be exactly what I envisioned, but it captures the essence to perfection.  And to me, that’s what it’s all about.  The pose (as you’ll see below) is called “Cappucino?”, but really, no one should expect this girl to be getting anyone their coffee…  😉

I don’t work full-time anymore, so you’d think that weekends would be just another day. But old habits are persistent, and weekend mornings still feel special, and lazing around is not just allowed, it’s almost mandatory lol.  And I worked hard to show off a blend of products here, some of which is so brand new it’s not even available yet! But it all feels so natural and so comfy… just perfect for Saturday and Sunday mornings and for every day, don’t you think? 😉

  • Head: Tonic – SNEAK PREVIEW!  Coco, another brand-new bento head from Tonic is in pre-release. Coco has stolen my heart… she has a new nose & mouth structure, but for me, the absolute killer are the slightly tilted eyes… I’m always trying to tilt my eyes by moving the outer corners up & the inner corners down; with Coco, she already has that slightly exotic angle built in which made my tweaking so much easier to achieve the look I’ve been striving for since I bought my very first mesh head… I’M SO THRILLED!!!!!  Coco comes Omega-ready & is fully mod, so you can play & tweak to your heart’s content. I’m wearing Amina in Cashew Browless (one of the dark tones), but there are 14 tones to choose from, all with the no-brow option if, like me, you prefer to add your own brows for a different shape &/or color!

I can’t remember ever having had as much fun doing a photo shoot as this one. This is such a sexy outfit, perfect for a night out on the prowl; I had envisioned being propped against a bar, surveying the scene. Imagine my excitement to find this bar where you can dance on the bar Coyote Ugly-style! Since I LOVE to go out dancing, this was a ton of fun for me, especially since they kept changing up the dance. Admittedly it was also somewhat frustrating since it was (a) hard to catch that perfect moment when my feet were actually on the bar and not either in the air or buried in the wood and (b) where everything that needed to be shown could be seen in the shot, but I can definitely say that it was a ton of fun snapping away to the rock-n-roll tunes!  Many thanks to Alex Avion for the LM!!!  Enough work though… now to get back to my dancing!!!!  😉

  • Outfit:  YOU by GeMyles – Selenion Lace Dress & Heels. This is one of those WOW outfits. Everything about it is just, well, WOW. The style, with the high thigh cut on the left side. The fit, where it clings in the right places without looking tight. The textures, with a great choice of 32 solids in the HUD & the awesome black floral netting across the midriff, in an asymmetrical band on the right side & on cutouts in the matching thigh-high boots. The little details, like the black edging on the dress & the hanging laces on the boots. Just WOW. It’s really funny; the first time I tried on Toril, I wasn’t sure how I felt about her… now I never want to take her off.  I’m absolutely besotted with her dimples & light freckling (I, of course, add some more freckles plus my signature heart-shaped mole).  See below for a sampling of Toril Browless Option straight out of the box in several skin tones (Marshmellow & Butter from the Light Fatpack; Cashew & Maple from the Dark Fatpack)… she’s truly unique!
