I just learned that in medieval times, there was no Christmas per se.  Instead, there were 12 nights of revelry following the winter solstice.  Christmas as we know it didn’t truly show up until a lot later, gaining popularity in the Victorian era.  So, to be historically correct then, this pic is not a Christmas one, just post-winter-solstice lol!  Happy Twelfth Night from medieval times (and Happy New Year from me lol)!

The wonder of playing fantasy in SL rarely fails to amaze me… it’s not just the clothes (though admittedly clothes like this are so exceptional, they definitely play a big part!) … it’s not just the wings (though again, that’s a large part of WHY I play as fae!)… it’s the mental side of the totally different characters I create.  Although I also love being human, and creating a variety of looks/attitudes/situations, it’s just not at the same level as the creative process of BEING a fantasy character.  Maybe I make too much of it, but creating and getting into character is just so much larger… a bit like an actor getting into her role though obviously not to the same depth or intensity…. But it definitely is addictive!!!  Enjoy! and don’t be shy about saying hello if I run into you when I’m flitting out and about!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my life (and hopefully I’ve learned more than this one thing lol) is that sometimes it all burns down (either intentionally or not) and you have two choices… either sit there and lament, or dance in the flames.  And sometimes, it’s just good to feel the heat… A bit too philosophical for me today, but that’s the mood I’m in lol! I’m not really a dark fae, I lean much more towards the side of light and nature.  But I definitely have my moments!!!  Then again, as a “true” fae, someone who lives this role almost every single day, I’m not a real fan of Halloween.  All these humans donning all these kitschy costumes and are all just so cute in their little pretend fantasies.  But THIS outfit, THIS is true fantasy.  This is not a costume, this is a full character, one who could easily live year-round, going around spreading her lovely darkness.  LOVE IT!
