So here I am again, sitting on my ya ya waiting for my ya ya, uh huh… What’s a girl to do? Drank my beer, read my book… I guess I could paint my toes, but then again you can only paint them so many times, & they’re looking pretty perfect already.  Time to start thinking about how I should have him make it up to me… hmmmm… what jewelry would look good with that new dress I just got huh? Do you take a lot of pix in RL? It’s funny… I obviously take a ton of photos here in Second Life for blogging but I also take quite a bit just for fun. Back in the real world, when my kids were little, I was always snapping away, trying to capture all those perfect — and imperfect — moments.  But these days when so much of the world is obsessed with documenting every moment of their lives in pictures, I find that my remembering to grab my phone and snap a pic or to actually use our DSLR is actually pretty rare.  It generally takes something unique, something beautiful, something a bit offbeat, something that strikes me hard enough in some way to remind me that “Oh, I should get a picture of that!”  This “wearing a flamingo on my pants while standing in front of a flamingo diner sign with a huge flamingo” would totally be that type of shot… though I’ll definitely admit that even if I were to wear flamingos in RL, I’d never be able to do this kind of cheesecake pose in RL and pull it off half so well!!!!  But here’s to more picture-taking and and more special moments to take pictures of!   😉

The longer I’m in Second Life (and I’ve been here a loooong time), the more I realize that I’m a bit of a prude by SL standards.  Yes, I wear plenty of sexy styles and love to flaunt my stuff, but there’s a lot of clothing out there that I just won’t wear because IMHO, it just goes too far to be stylish.  Sure it’s just pixels, or maybe it’s BECAUSE I’ve been Ceja for so long now; all I know is that she is still me and I just wouldn’t feel comfortable putting it all on display.  (It’s also why I don’t do any nude or topless shots on FlickR; just a personal thing.) The point is that every once in a while, I find an outfit that skates dangerously close to that line but is just so cute, with some element of style that I adore, that I’m completely won over.  This is definitely one of those outfits… the addition of the lace joining the teeny top and bottom, with those two little straps turns this little number from an “oh no” to an “oh wow” in my book… and if you’ve got ANY curves, this dress will signal them to the world!!!  😉

So I’ve been prattling on and on about needing a vacation for a long time now, but tada!!! It’s finally booked!  I can hardly wait! It’s not till mid-September, but it was a pretty complicated three-city deal to set up, so that was the earliest I could pull off with any kind of economy.  Why three cities? Well first we drive to Philadelphia to leave our dog with our son, which means one night in a hotel there. Then we fly to Florida to look into moving a year or two or three down the road; then we’re driving over to a beach resort to just veg and relax before heading back to Philadelphia for a last night, some time with our son, and then back to NY with our dog in tow!  Lots of coordination with reservations and checking alternate routes and ways of doing things, but I got it done in one very long day.  Of course, now comes the hardest part… WAITING.  I wish we were leaving this week lol, but oh I love the anticipation… it will keep me going for all these weeks!!!!  And what does all this have to do with “packing a little extra booty”?  Because now I’m thinking how nice it would be if my clothes in RL were anywhere near as lovely as my clothes here in SL (like this GORGEOUS suit/cover up), not to mention my body lol!  Then I’d be TOTALLY happy!!!!  😉

No Dogs Allowed !?! How DARE they?

So anyone who reads my blog or watches my FlickR knows that I’m a crazy cat lady.  But actually I’m also a dog person.  In fact, in real life I currently have one dog (the best dog in the world!), two cats, and two parakeets… I’d love to have more, but since I also want to travel more, this is where we’re drawing the line.  But as much as I love my dog and  just dogs in general, it does make me a bit crazy how some people think that THEIR dog should be allowed to go everywhere they go… stores, restaurants, trains, airplanes, you name it.  Granted, my dog is 50 lbs+ and many of “those people” have little dogs, but let’s face it… little dogs tend to be rather yappy and therefore not the best in enclosed social venues.  To put it mildly, I’m just not a fan of that behavior.  However, here on the grid? Different story! I totally fell in love with this bag/dog combo… the little dog is animesh,  just absolutely adorable, and both the bag AND the dog have several texture options so it’s even fashionable enough for a blogger like me!  Still, when I took him shopping with me, the store said “No way!” (the way I wish more would in RL!)  All I can say is that’s the last of MY hard-earned lindens they’ll see lol!!!  😉

People Watching

I’ll admit it, I’m a people-watcher.  I always have been.  Some of my fondest memories growing up in Manhattan (yes, I’m one of THOSE), is just sitting somewhere like the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, withor without my best friend, coffee in hand, and watching the world go by.  In the bad weather, the venue changed to a coffee shop window (yes, there were coffee shops back then!!), but the activity remained the same.  A lot has changed in my life since those days, but I still love to sit and watch, everywhere I go.  Do I judge? Absolutely.  Do I get inspiration and ideas?  Definitely.   But let’s face it… one of the best places for pure people watching enjoyment is on the beach… hunk watching is just SOOOO much fun!!!  The whales, the fails, and everything inbetween!!!  Oooh la la, that one’s definitely caught my eye!  😉

Change of Weather Coming In

Well, the last several days have been absolutely miserable weatherwise here in the northeast US in RL… hot, humid, oppressive to the point of high heat warnings (well over 100 degrees with the heat index)… but the weather seems to be breaking even as I type, with storm clouds moving in and the temperatures finally, FINALLY!, beginning to drop.  It was so hot, we had to actually cancel our previous plans as I had mentioned, and yes, we went to the movies where a lovely time was had by all, as we stayed cool and gorged ourselves on buttered popcorn… mmmmm good!  Still wondering what’s happened to all my RL summer activities, but now that I’ve seen a summer movie, I at least feel like summer has begun!!!!  No such problems here in SL, where it’s been nonstop summer action and fun… though it looks like change is on the horizon, and it’s time to pack up and go home, at least for a little while!  😉

Maybe it’s because it’s a guy’s post, but for some reason, I’m just out of words for this blog. Unusual for me, to say the least. Maybe it’s because the heat has just crushed them all out of me. Maybe it’s because it’s Saturday morning and I stayed up way too late inworld last night playing cards & dancing. Who knows? Wow, hard to believe we’re more than halfway through July already. I haven’t been to the beach once, or really done anything that says “SUMMER” other than use a lot of air conditioning and try to stay cool.  In fact, it’s going to be so ridiculously hot this weekend that our outdoor plans were actually cancelled; instead, we’re considering going to the movies of all things.  Shakes my head sadly at what my world is coming too… oh well, at least here in SL I’m on the beach all the time, having fun, boating and so much more… truly an endless summer… and I don’t even have to worry about sunburn!!!!  Beach baby, go go go!!! 😉
