A Winter’s Dream

Posted on December 28, 2020 by cejalaval

http://A Winter's Dream

All this work IRL setting up my new house seems to be contagious.  I suddenly have the bug to replace my house in Second Life, which is a stunning log cabin-type house that is rather primmy, and prims as you know are a very precious commodity (especially to a blogger who does some Home & Garden/Home & Decor blogging).  In some ways, it’s a lot easier in SL… not as much time, money, or energy is involved, and it’s so easy to change your mind and redo it again… and again… and again… something that I am certainly guilty of over the years.  But it’s also not as easy as it once was.  I’m not quite sure why, but there are just fewer house designer/manufacturers than there were previously.  I’m finding lots of houses that I love that are HUGE… lots of houses that are TINY…  and some houses that fall in the middle, which is where I want to be.  The issue I’m running across is that I simply don’t understand why the bulk of SL houses have so many bedrooms.  For example, I found a perfect house in terms of style, quality, footprint, but for some reason the designer put in all these interior doors leading to 4 bedrooms.  Four! We’re two people living in a house, what do we need with 4 bedrooms???  Maybe I’m dreaming, but I want that house with ONE bedroom plus a bath… sighs, sometimes I wish I had the knowledge and talent to create exactly what I have in my head lol, but since I don’t I do wish more house builders would think about the end user… I have to think that single or partnered avatars are buying most houses, not communes.  I mean, I belong to a “cooperative” of sorts where we all have our own land but in one group so that we share usage over everything, but we still have our own houses. Oh well.  My rant of the day is now complete, and we can all return to our regularly scheduled programming.  Happy shopping!

The look:

  • Outfit:  Poet’s Heart – Sophie Ghost.  The pure white of this special holiday edition gown is simply stunning!  Featuring a tightly laced satin bodice & then the skirt flowing loosely from the hips in a soft moire texture, Sophie includes a matching top hat with calla lillies… what an amazing look!  (The lighting effects from the hideaway reflect off it beautifully, but you can see it’s purity & the beautiful texture in the closeup below.)  Sized only for Maitreya, Sophie is available as part of the Poet’s Heart Holiday Hunt, Dec 24th – Jan 3rd.  Happy hunting, there’s lots of awesome things to find!
  • Head & Ears:  LOGO  – Chelsea bento head with Ilvanya Elf Ears.  I’ve blogged them both before, but they are both just so special they are now my “look” (I’m especially enamored of the ears & the way they move, since they have a special AO of their own.)  What a fantastic combination, as you can see in the closeup!
  • Jewelry:  Glint – Gemmed Icicle Necklace & Earrings.  Includes a HUD to change the metal to silver or gold, plus 8 colors for the gemstones.  EXCLUSIVELY available at the December Twe12ve event, an Evil Bunny Production, open through Dec 30th. Be sure to see the closeup below!
  • Horns:  Petrichor – Trinket Horns
  • Body:  Maitreya
  • Skin:  Petrichor/Plastik – Styliste
  • Hair:  Kuni – Minha
  • Eyes:  {Demicorn} Cosmetics – Unicorn Eyes (Omega Appliers)
  • Makeup:  Zibska – Shura Lips; LUXREBEL – “Butterfly” Eyeshadows
  • Wings:  Seven’s Selections (now Vaengi Wings) – Irid Light Wings
  • Pose:  an lar poses – The Paulette Series

The scene:

Swank & Co. –  Winters Dream Fantasy Hideaway Adult Bed.   Truly a winter fantasy setting, with a bed surrounded by wintry flora, with stylized snowflakes drifting softly.  This item comes with light effects (blue, purple, green, & red), which you can turn on & off to use just one or in any combination of light colors you want to create.  What a stunning setting, & it surrounds a bed that includes some very adult (& fun) animations. EXCLUSIVELY available in Adult version only at the December round of the Swank Event, open until the 30th.  See the full pull-out shot below.
