I need to admit that sometimes lately I’m getting very confused about who I am. Once upon a time, my backstory was very solid, and I was very sure about my place, my role as it were, here on the grid. I dressed and acted to fit my role. But as I embarked on my life as a blogger, I started experimenting with more looks, more roles. There’s the pure fae, the princess, the goddess/priestess, the warrior… most with a medieval tonality but not all… I don’t just change my clothes or hair or whatever… I put together a “look”, creating a new story, and And it feels so very right… until it’s time to move on. There’s always some reluctance, a small tug of sadness when it’s time to take off a persona, fold it up and put it away on the shelf. But as that next new look takes form, almost every single time I once again get to exult in that feeling of “this is it… this is me!” I’ve come to realize that they’re all just facets of my hybrid fae/elven personality… but oh, my self-identity does teeter and totter. It’s not quite an identity crisis, but it does take a bit to reorient myself. Does some of the princess carry over into the warrior? And does the heart of the warrior beat under the royal finery? Yes to both… I’m a warrior princess, building my new backstory look by look… working out the intricacies of who I am, bit by bit. But even a somewhat confused warrior princess has patrol duty… with plenty of time to think! May the blessings of the fairies guide us both!!!!
