One of my favorite activities in SL (along with shopping and dancing) is to play games.  All types of games — cards, board games, you name it.  Come to think of it, it’s one of my favorite things IRL too lol, although I admittedly am not a good pool player, I still have fun.  Not doing something well doesn’t usually stand in my way of at least trying to hold my own, since I know that you never improve at anything unless you keep on slugging away at it! I am, however, a much better shopper lol, which is why I enjoy blogging so much… it’s the best excuse for shopping! Speaking of which, I’m off to do my weekend shopping! Enjoy!

I’m a bit late in posting this (the event closes tomorrow), but I’ve had a really rough few days.  Here I am, planning to shoot this adorable kitty-cat outfit when my own kitty, suddenly out of the blue, stopped eating,  and crawled into a corner he’d never ever been in.  A few hours later (about 1A) he started screaming and writhing intermittently, reminding me of when I passed a kidney stone a few months back.  Sadly, the urgent vet care near me closes at 11P, so all I could do was lie there on the floor with him, stroking him, talking softly, and just being there.  Eventually I fell asleep for about an hour, and when I woke, he was gone.  It was a hard death because it was obviously so painful, and I was so distressed my body went right into some kind of stomach reaction (food poisoning maybe?).  Bottom line, blogging was just not the priority.  But I’m back, missing my Rudy (see him below), and posting this shot in honor of my boy…

Love is in the air

I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day.  It just seems to be one of those overly commercialized days, creating a desperate “need” to both give and receive cards, flowers, candy, jewelry, etc.  How many tears have been shed over the lack of having a Valentine? I know how many I personally shed when I was a teenager and young adult.  So no, I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day.  But love?  I’m definitely a romantic at heart, I just don’t believe that it has to be so regimented…. loving and being in love (which really are two separate things) should be natural and personalized, demonstrated in small and meaningful ways ALL the time, not just on Feb 14th with “surface” expressions.  But still, Valentine’s Day deserves an acknowledgement, and hopefully it reminds us all of the importance of love in this world that is increasingly hard.   Love is all around us, all the time, even if it’s not right there, shouting, like it is on this specific day.  Happy shopping!

Well, I woke up this morning to bright sunshine and it’s going to be warm enough for capris if not shorts, but until yesterday/today we’ve been hunkered down in the cold even way down here in the Sunshine state.   Before moving here, I was up in NY where they’ve been just buried in snow and freezing cold temps.  Since I hate the cold (hence the move to Florida!), when the weather deteriorated to that stage I‘ve always had a dual sense of being safe in my nest but also trapped in it … yes I have SL, and I read a lot, etc., but staring out the window and feeling that inability to just go for a walk etc., well, to me it’s right up there with the COVID outbreak in terms of going stir-crazy!  Thankfully, the weather has cleared where I live, so I’m free to go run around and shop and explore… just as in SL!!!!
