Sometimes it’s hard to keep a rosy outlook when life starts having different ideas. I’m not talking about the big things, but all those little and middling things that add up to just make things, well, not so rosy.  The thing I’ve learned is just to hang on, keep swinging, cuddle a cat (or a dog or what have you), and things will start to look rosier… especially if you put on something new, and make yourself look GREAT!  How can the day not follow suit?  😉

What I’m wearing:

  • Outfit:  Moonstar – Rosy Glow Dress, Accessories & Boots.  This relatively simple little dress packs a whole lot of surprises that add up to one big wow.  First, it just fits amazingly well; something about the cut perhaps, but personally, I thought it looked more amazing than in the ad picture.  Second it has awesome straps… the little cross-chest one adds interest, & then the back is lo-cut with several criss-crossed straps for a whole ton of sex appeal.   • Head: Tonic – Coco is one of the two new bento heads from Tonic (I’ve been bouncing back & forth between them, depending on the look I want).  Coco has a somewhat exotic look with slightly slanted eyes, & is fully mod & Omega-ready so you can easily customize her to make her truly unique.  If you missed her debut at the Skin Fair, don’t despair! Now that I’m a working girl in Real Life once again, it really feels like I have two jobs. It’s a good thing that I love blogging so much, because a blogger’s job is never done!  I’d also have to admit that this office set is MUCH neater than my own home office ever looks (I’m SOOOOOOOO much messier lol, with papers everywhere!!!), but I absolutely love that Ceja now has her own working space for doing her blogging… it just seems appropriate! I’ve added a few personal touches to the office — as every girl does to every office everywhere — but what I’m thinking it really needs is one of my cats, sleeping on the desk!  Maybe next time lol… Now, back to work!!!  😉

Do you ever fantasize about just getting on a boat or a raft and sailing away from it all? I know that plenty of people live in Second Life without homes, but I can’t even imagine what that would be like. I bought my first home after only a few months inworld, and I recently had my 12th rez day.  But having a home can mean a lot of different things to different people, and they definitely come in all shapes, styles and sizes.  With about 1/6th of a standard sim (not a homestead sim), which is huge by some standards and a speck of dust by others, I constantly lust for more land and more prims… but there was a time years ago when I had double what I have now, and it still wasn’t enough lol.  But even if you have a tiny house, it doesn’t mean that you can’t make it look fabulous.  And to prove my point, I took a standard SL home — one of those you get as a Premium member — which, designed for a 512 sqm lot,  is definitely on the smaller side and, IMHO, not the best designed, and — by choosing a comfy, stylish perfect for everyday living room set that I felt had unisex appeal and then selecting what I considered more masculine textures from the 6 color/pattern schemes available — made it absolutely perfect for the single man (or woman) in Second Life!

Java Reflections

Blogging Home & Decor as more than a prop in a fashion shoot is a whole different mindset from fashion blogging, and although it’s one I’ll admit to having some trouble adjusting to, I’m loving it!  It’s a totally different type of challenge, to not just create beautiful room or outdoor sets, but to do so where they’ll fit into the right sized frame and where each item will show properly in the lighting while still achieving interesting shadows. There’s so much versatility and so many choices to make!  All of which meant that it took lots of coffee but that I also had incredible fun building this section of a beautiful bedroom from items available at the Boardwalk Event, March 15th – April 15th, starting with the fantastic pool house itself and its incredibly beautiful interior.  Unfortunately, now I have a new problem… I don’t want to leave!!!!  Maybe I’ll just sit and drink my coffee for a while till it’s time to go to work…  😉

Fat Bird– Peregrine Pool House:   An absolutely amazing item, the Peregrine Pool House is a tropical-themed little two-story pool house which comes complete with a tiny conservatory, exterior waterfall and balcony.  You can see the beautiful wallpaper & some of the interior detailing in the photo which I’ve taken on the 2nd floor.  An an option, a White version is also included which has tintable walls instead of the tropical wallpaper.  Both houses are copy/mod, mesh, materials enabled & mod friendly. They are 60 prims, with an approximate footprint of 20×15.  Also included with the two houses are the Tropical Bird Prints, a series of three connected wall art posters featuring tropical birds, which I’ve placed above the DayBed. They are mesh, materials enabled & mod friendly as well, with a land impact score of 3 prims. The ads below will provide additional views, & there’s a fullsize version of the Pool House up on the demo platform at the event, so you can walk through & see all the incredible detail for yourself. 

Magnum Opus – The Linen Cabinet:  For a simple concept, this is a surprisingly detailed piece. It includes two versions… one fully stocked, as I’ve used it (which has a land impact of 12 prims); one with an empty cabinet & all the individual items boxed separately so you can use & arrange as you see fit.  Personally, I’ve never seen anything of this kind that’s quite so perfect… it’s neat, yet with the open door, hanging towel & then  the other towel on the side of the hamper, it has just the right amount of mess to it.  This is one item that has definitely found a permanent place in my home.

Gracefully Wicked – Daydreamer DayBed:  Perfect for indoor or outdoor use, this DayBed can sit up to 3 avatars at the same time.  It looks great, because it has 5 texture sets which you can either apply as a pre-set or select the frame & each set of pillows separately to coordinate with your decor, which is what I did here. But this DayBed goes way beyond just good looks, because it also includes 380 different quality animations –singles, including the coffee drinking one I’m using, 2p & 3p cuddles, & 2p & 3p adult.  100% mesh, copy/mod, with a land impact of 10.

It’s been a bit of a tough week all in all, and it’s not even over yet. As I mentioned in an earlier blog, I started a new job and although it sounds really whingy, I’m just not used to getting up early every day, getting dressed, packing a lunch, and going to work. Luckily it’s an extremely short commute (only 5 minutes!) and a very flexible schedule, but still, I’m just not used to having to be anywhere day after day.  On top of that, tax forms are due for my small business, which is stressful, some medical issues are rearing their ugly head, FlickR has been IMPOSSIBLE, and it just goes on and on. Here in Second Life, deadlines have crept up on me due to my new time constraints and my still learning how to cope with them.  Bottom line, I’m feeling kind of down on myself.  Even though my oufit is awesome and I absolutely adore my new head, when I look at myself I see beyond what the mirror sees.  I need to remind myself of the message on the wall:  Whatever, I’m fabulous anyway! 😉

We all have dreams. What we want to be, what we want to do, how we want to live, who we want to share our lives with. And as life goes on, with all its ups and downs, those dreams change.  After all, we all have dues to pay. But even in the harsh light of reality, dreams are a necessity… they are what keep us getting up each morning, and moving through each day.  We need to have dreams in our hearts and minds… big dreams, little dreams, realistic dreams, fanciful dreams, it doesn’t matter… they’re all important in their own way.  They fuel our lives, they are the energy behind everything we do.  So yes, you need to face reality, you can’t live with your head in a dream, but that doesn’t mean that you give up on your dreams.  After all, to quote Disney (and the pillow!!), “A dream is a wish your heart makes”… so let’s all DREAM ON!!!  😉

Maybe it’s because in Real Life I seem to have the kiss of death when it comes to indoors plants, but in Second Life I’m always surrounding myself with green growing things. In addition to being huge on landscaping, I bring a lot of greenery into the house as well, which is why I was just thrilled to find all these plants (and the ottomans and table too!) on sale for this week’s Syndicate Sunday! It’s just so soothing and replenishing to the soul to be surrounded by green growing things while winter is still having its wicked way outside the window… I only wish I could do the same here in Real Life, but the plants just aren’t as hardy as those in SL!!!  😉

I’ve been a fashion blogger since Oct 2017, but long LONG before I ever even remotely considered doing that, I was a landscaper in Second Life.  I don’t know exactly what it is about landscaping in SL that holds such tremendous appeal for me — maybe it’s the ease of changing your mind once you’ve planted something, maybe it’s that incredible ripple when terraforming, maybe it’s the thrill of placing that absolutely perfect piece and then getting a renewed sense of satisfaction every day — but from the day I bought my first land more than 11 1/2 years ago, it’s been a huge passion of mine… to the point that I often change lots just for the fun of tackling a new layout and doing something new and different.  And yes, as part of an overall post I’ve occasionally blogged a landscaping or home decor item that came my way, but it’s not until now that I have a dedicated home decor sponsor of my very own…  Tm Creation.  Back during the SL Christmas Expo I had the chance to feature one of their amazing products, but now I’m doing my happy dance that I get to  the chance to blog  ALL of their incredibly wonderful creations and share them with you!  I had an incredibly difficult time choosing what to start with, but decided to go with what won my heart and gave me the incentive to apply in the first place.  Maybe it will win yours too!  😉
