Well, SL life and blogging goes on… My blog is up and working, with a few bugs to figure out (if I can, WP and web designing/managing is definitely outside of my wheelhouse); my beach lot — which I had set up and maintained basically for blogging beachy stuff, but rarely used) — is emptied and up for sale.  Found some abandoned land I like for Thea’s new home (I’m giving her my tier allowance so she can have a bigger place for HER fantasy blogging/SL life)… and of course there’s always SL date night and dancing, dancing, dancing!!! I wish, I wish, I wish… how many times do we all say that to ourselves?  There are countless fairy tales about it, all with the lesson behind it that you should be careful what you wish for.  I’m a fae, I should listen.  And still…

Well, right now at this very moment, I’m wishing that everything is resolved with this blog so that I can once again concentrate on living my fae dreams in my fantasy fae world… I’m starting to look for a new home (so happy! Ceja is giving me her tier allowance!!!)  I wish… I mean I hope… I mean I PLAN to find exactly what I’m picturing in my mind’s eye… and then have all the fun creating it!  May all our wishes come true (as long as they’re good safe wishes, that is lol)…

Oh No! My website migration keeps failing!!

When I posted this pic to Flickr, this headline was true… then I finally got my migration to work by coming up with a workaround: I got my OLD hosting company to upgrade my storage on a prorated basis for the one week of hosting I had left, for the whopping cost of $2.88!!! Best couple of dollars I’ve spent in a looooong time! After that, the migration went smoothly. Then came switching the domain from the original host to the new one… not quite as simple as it should have been, since the only support on the new host is an AI, and as I’m quickly learning, if you don’t ask your questions exactly the right way, you don’t always get the answer you need. All that said, after a week of emotional ups and downs (and one minor meltdown when I thought I’d have to abandon this blog after 8 long years of dedication), I’m back up and running. I’m sure there will be some kinks (probably a lot of them), but those can be figured out. Anyway, I’m back to shopping, back to posting, and back to blogging! Woo-hoo, no more tears!!!

Living in medieval times wasn’t all gowns and chivalry.  As in most cultures, there were a lot of “little people” who did all the work to support the lifestyle of those in power.  For some reason, the old TV show ‘Queen for A Day‘  kept popping into my brain when I saw this outfit… and thus the idea for this pic was born.  The creative process can be a strange one indeed! (On a side note, I just noticed that every one of my pix for the Enchanted Realms event has included a dragon… what’s up with that?)

I love dragons! And they’re so popular in fantasy literature, with descriptions ranging from wise, loyal, fierce, even playful… but nowhere have I have ever read that they sleep so much!!!  Of course, it would be MY dragon to break the mold… sighs… not much I can do but wait… you’re supposed to let sleeping dogs lie… I suppose the same can be said about dragons (not that I have much choice, her skin is too thick to pinch and she’s deep into the dragon dreamworld!

Sometimes all it takes is a few minutes with that special someone to make the day, if not the whole world, seem better!  And I like to think that it works the other way as well, especially when I see his eyes light up as he looks me over, knowing that I dressed just for him!  If only we had more time together, but I’m happy for what I can get!!! Well, i might be jumping the gun a bit, but then again, maybe not so much!  The calendar may be saying it’s still summer, but it’s definitely starting to feel more fall-like.   During summer in FL, you feel like you’re melting out in the sun doing any kind of activity.  Yesterday, I actually had to wear a light jacket both in the early morning and at dog-walking time in the early evening… and THAT’s the biggest indicator that fall is starting to arrive.  SL stores and sales are brimming with pumpkins and sunflowers (probably featured in my next shot lol!) and even Halloween items (though that’s pushing it a bit far IMHO).  All those lovely photogenic sims are starting to shift as well… me, I’m hoping to jump to a new island before I change mine over lol!  But now it’s time for all that weekend shopping… have fun!

The calendar may not agree that summer is officially over (that day is Sept 22nd), but for most people, Labor Day is the unofficial end.  Even here in central FL, temps are down and a light sweatshirt is needed after dark (though I’m sure it won’t last lol).  IRL stores are already flaunting Halloween and even Thanksgiving paraphernalia (which I think is pushing it a bit), and here on the grid, fall fashions and that gorgeous autumn scenery is rapidly taking over.  I’m already pondering how I’ll redo my land for autumn and when I’ll swap out my tanned summer skin… but for this moment, I’m still enjoying the brilliant sun, deep blue skies, and sexy summer wear!
