7 Deadly S[k]ins has been my go-to skin designer for some time now; it’s extremely rare that I wear a skin by anybody else.  However, although I own two LAQ heads, this is the first time I’ve worn a 7 skin that was actually made specifically for Neve, one of my two heads (the LAQ-designed skins work on all LAQ heads, and my Tonic heads too, and are ALWAYS worth trying). Therefore, I decided to also wear the shape, straight out of the box for the purposes of this post, although I would admittedly “fluff her up” for real use inworld, since her body is a bit too scrawny for this curvy gal’s taste! Either way, the Junia head shape is GORGEOUS, and is of course, fully mod; the skin packs come with 8 tones — 8!!!!, with brows and without — and all at 50% off.  If you have a Tonic body, be sure to note that the tempting lingerie set, premiering today at the MBA Fair.  Both are definitely worth a demo, and a closer look… 😉

It’s the sad truth that I spend a lot of time alone inworld. It’s actually how I came to be a blogger. My long-time partner has a very busy life in the real world but he’s definitely worth waiting for, so I was looking for someTHING (as opposed to someONE else) to occupy my time. It really is amazing how you can be in Second Life for seemingly forever (11+ years for me!), and then you stumble upon something so simple you can’t believe you never knew about it before.  Today’s example (and believe me, it’s only the latest), is Teleport History… I just never knew it was there. I’d forgotten to take a landmark after my photo shoot, and was bemoaning the fact when I relogged back on later in the day to get slurls, etc. for this post. My friend Rene Broux very casually (and I’ll note without any laughing or snickering whatsoever) told me what to do… I am humbled, completely, and will try very hard to remember this moment when I was without a clue the next time I’m explaining alphas and the benefits of going mesh for the seemingly millionth time to he who shall not be named… ?

I’m one of those people who love Etymology, the origin of words.  I find it fascinating how words and phrases make it into our daily lexicon.  For instance, did you ever wonder where the term “Happy Hour” came from? It sprang from the mind of some marketing guru, and spread like wildfire throughout our society.  It’s one of those terms that really grates when you think about it… who wants to be happy for just an hour? and is happiness really based on discounted food and drink? Or, as I believe, are there different levels of happiness, and happiness itself is a transient state?  Well, enough philosophizing… all I know is that this flirty little dress in this beautiful silk pattern feels like a summer breeze and always makes me happy, even more so when my partner commented on date night how exceptionally pretty it was on me.  Not to mention, it’s Happy Hour somewhere on the grid and in RL… so let’s start getting happy!

I’m heading off to the beach today in RL, and all I can say is that it takes an awful lot more work than on the grid.  Inworld there’s no driving, no traffic, no lotions, no red flags… all it takes for a perfect time at the beach is a sensational bikini, sunglasses, some kind of floatie, flip flops, and a hat… then a quick TP to find my perfect spot in the sun!  Sighs… if only it was this easy in RL… and if only I looked this good!

This is one of those outfits that I wanted the moment I saw it, and was just thrilled that it not only came in Tonic sizes but was from a designer whose sizes always fit like they should! The lo-cut, off-shoulder blouse has a wonderful finishing edge, and just looks like it would be incredibly soft to the touch. The cute little shorts are hi-cut in the rear, and unzipped in the front to not only make room for that post-partying bloat, but also to show a glorious inside fabric that matches the teeny thong. And of course there’s a HUD for everything, so you can pick the color/pattern combination you prefer (and let me say, it was NOT an easy choice).

So I wasn’t going to blog today because it’s a holiday and I figured few people are online. But then I realized that I’M online for at least a few hours, so maybe others are too. The result:  a SPECIAL JULY 4TH EDITION.

And what could I possibly blog other than a “patriotic” outfit. So here’s my take on the red-white-and-blue SL-style! There’s nothing subtle about this outfit, in ANY respect — strapless, lo-cut in front; wayyyy short in back (ass cheeks hanging out on full display here), side leg zippers pulled wayyyy up on the side (finding panties that worked was for me a necessity but quite the challenge!), and an in-your-face American flag pattern. I, of course, took it even further with some older items buried in my inventory  — July 4th shoes, firecracker earrings, and a tattoo of stars. I’m a firework going to shoot across the sky! Happy 4th of July (and Happy Canada Day to my Canadian friends out there as well)!

For someone who’s rarely taken bikini photos, I seem to be doing a lot of them lately (and there’s more to come).  And for good reason: it’s bikini season, and SL designers are going all-out to outdo each other with great cuts and fabulous textures.  Just look at this suit! The bottom is about as teeny as they get, with a pure thong in the back and just enough coverage in front; the top is lo-cut but full enough to comfortably support full-sized breasts, and sports cut-outs at the bottom for that added note of sexiness (as if this suit needs it).  Two tiny bands over the hips with a patch of fabric, and skinny string ties for the top with an alpha bow… all these details make for an incredibly special bikini. OK, logically I know we need the rain, and sometimes a rainy day can be incredibly enjoyable, but NOT when the weatherman predicts sunny skies. In my time, I’ve had a lot of extra cups of coffee waiting it out, but — and how’s this for a segue? — I rarely look as good as in this amazingly soft-looking, flowy, remarkably feminine jumpsuit. Yes, the cut of the top is great, the sheer fabric in the middle adds undeniable sex appeal, the color choices are wonderful (15 solids, plus the pattern I’m wearing in 5 colors) but it’s the way the bottoms have such natural-looking folds that really makes this jumpsuit special. Unfortunately, though, it can’t stop the rain…
