Wow, hard to believe it’s the weekend before Thanksgiving! I’ve already started cooking for the big meal — my first chutney/relish (I usually make three cranberry variations) is done — so I now feel fully engaged.  As I’ve mentioned before, due to lots of ongoing personal reasons, all extended family members are not traveling this year, so only my kids (and THEIR loved ones) are coming.  So there won’t be quite as much cooking or frenetic activity this year, but most traditions will stay in play.  We may go down into the city (and yes, it’s the one pretty accurately pictured here, though moved around a lot lol) if the weather cooperates because although I’ve started my holiday shopping as well as my Thanksgiving cooking, I still have quite a bit to go. Lot of December birthdays in my family too, including my own, so to the city we shall go! Whether in SL or in RL, happy shopping!

I love my computer but I gotta say, sometimes I really hate my computer!!! I’ve spent hours — and I’m not exaggerating, I literally mean HOURS — trying to upload and insert the pic below. For some reason, everything was stalling.  So what do you do? Reboot, naturally. Eeeekkkk! It turned into a brick while updating various things that it hadn’t bothered to let me know needed updating, and I do mean a brick — 100% disk usage.  My birthday is coming up, and it’s a big one, a REALLY big one. Everyone is asking me what I want, but I really don’t need a new computer, I just got a new laptop last year (or was it the year before? I don’t remember), but I do spend a lot of time on my desktop, and it’s getting into that grey area.  Another night/morning like this, though, I might just throw this thing out the window in a fit of temper…  Takes a deep breath… turns on some music to calm down and get the day off to a new, better, calmer start!!!  Hope your day is a good one… with happy shopping in it!

• Eyes:  Beauty Kartel – Lopida Eyes Omega.  I don’t usually blog things like eyes; I found eyes I liked a while ago & that’s what I generally wear.  With this head — which is relatively new — I’ve been wearing the eyes that come with it, because they’re really quite beautiful. We all have to make decisions all the time, it’s part of being human. Some are huge life-changing events; others are really tiny, like what to wear or what to eat or even when to log in, but as many thought-provoking books and movies have pointed out, sometimes even the littlest decision can have a domino-like effect that leads to a whole different future. Just think how many times you’ve said that “we met completely by accident”…  So if even the teeniest of decisions have the potential to ripple into tidal waves, no wonder some people get almost paralyzed when confronted by the need to make a major decision.  There really are four kinds of decision-making — snap instantaneous decisions; thoughtful decisions made after thinking things through; agonizing decisions made after thinking things through and then rethinking them over and over and over again, and then constantly questioning the decision you made; the paralytic refusal to make a decision at all and just letting time, chance and life eventually make it for you.  Me, I’m a mixture.  In business, I’m a thoughtful decision-maker. I get the facts, I think them through, and I’m not afraid to make a decision. But personally? I’m an agonizer.  I hate that I do it, but I torture myself over sometimes the smallest of decisions — like which image or which windlight to use in a post — and others as well in the big ones.  (Though I’ll admit right here that I have definitely dragged Rene in to many a decision over images lol! Now does that show what a fantastic friend she is or what!!!)  Well, one thing you don’t have to decide about… going shopping in SL! ALWAYS a good idea! Happy shopping!

• Outfit:  [GIULIADESIGN] – Eudora.  Made in Italy, this outfit certainly has that European look! Ultra sexy —  the button-down shirt is very casually buttoned by one teeny button with the fabric pulling just enough to give an extra little push of suggestion (as if this outfit really needed it lol).  The VERY short skirt is double slitted in front.  The thigh high boots are, well, thigh high.  Need I say more?  Yet it’s all somehow ultra classy — the textures (which you can see in the closeup below) & some of the styling details are very subtle in that continental way.  It all adds up to total chic! So here I am with another head cold. I can’t believe it… I just got over the last one! It’s all this rain and cold, makes me ache all over.  Rainy days can be so depressing at any time, but when the cold and wet makes you hurt, it’s even worse.  Of course, we need the rain… it’s critical to our survival.  And it can be delicious to be nestled warm and comfortable inside, watching the rain fall outside, as long as you don’t have to venture out.  And as my pic shows, there can definitely be other advantages as well! So here’s to always finding shelter from stormy weather! and of course, happy shopping!

It’s funny when you stop to think about it.  Here on the grid I’ve landscaped my property with lots of fallen autumn leaves, piles and piles of them, and I’m drawn to all these poses with even more leaves swirling around. Yet in real life, whereas they’re beautiful to look at (especially through a window lol), we all hate them on our own property and spend hours raking them into piles, bagging them, and just getting rid of them.  What a backbreaking chore! But they are indisputably the beauty of a season that honestly doesn’t have much more to recommend it at this point from a “nature” point of view (I’ll stand by my culinary loves of the season!!!)… it’s just really really cold outside where I live, it gets dark super-early, and I for one am just not very happy with the whole thing at all lol.  But I do love it here in SL where it’s only the beauty and none of the “other stuff” that goes along with it.  But whether it’s in SL or in RL, one thing is definite… fall is short, and winter is coming. But until it’s here, happy fall shopping!
