OMG, I need a time machine. Where does it all go? These human holidays… all the prep in advance, then the holiday itself, then all the clean-up after, and then poof! into the next prep… Here I thought I had all the time in the world, and suddenly I’m rushing, and as a fae, I do NOT like to hurry… I like to take my time and commune with nature, dream, and just enjoy being in the moment.  I’ve been dreaming of life as a mermaid, of late… I really don’t understand why we fae tend to limit ourselves to the forests and meadows… I love the sound of water! Waterfalls, babbling brooks, rushing streams, and waves hitting the shore… sighs, such music to my ears!  But oh no, there’s that annoying human again, tapping her wrist, trying to rush me along…. but if I spin just soooo, I don’t even see her lol… Happy shopping!

They said they were giving me an important defensive protection this holiday season, that I’d earned my WARRIOR status.  My assignment? Protect the turkeys so that they make it through the Thanksgiving season and something called a Turkey Shoot… Important position, bah!  I’m just a glorified babysitter (without much glory) stuck out here in the woods with a bunch of turkeys…

Autumn is in full swing, even down here in central Florida. It’s definitely been sweatshirt weather, with a  crispness to the air that is surprising and refreshing and sometimes downright exhilarating.  It’s interesting too how many plants “choose” to bloom at this time of year… the colors are striking, the blooms vary so in shape and size, but none match the splendor of the sunflower, inworld or out.  Happy shopping!

It’s a mystery.  Once again, my total look, my “activity” is not what I had planned when I first put on what I feel is a truly awesome outfit.  Neither is my overall look for that matter.  Initially, I went with a greyish-green skin & some facepaint.  But it just felt “off”… the look was just not right for the feel of the outfit, and I couldn’t put my finger on it.   So I did what I generally do when stuck… I went shopping!  When I tried on this skin color,  the outfit screamed YES! Everything became clear… the facepaint was gone because this gorgeous outfit was not for actual fighting… it brought visions of socializing between engagements, off-duty, or peacetime. I was actually searching for something like having a tankard in an era-appropriate pub, when the outfit pulled me into stronger off-duty waters and then suddenly it felt RIGHT… like I was on a diplomatic or secret assignment that turned into a beautiful moment of diversion. .. and thus another “character” is born.  I’d love to write her story (as I’ve seen some bloggers do), but I sadly lack the time and the confidence to do so.  So on that note, I will continue my slow crossing of the waters to my mission(personal or professional? hmmm I wonder) on the other side.  Happy shopping!

Three weeks till Halloween and the season seems to be in full swing.  I have rather mixed feelings about it all… I do have a fantasy-playing alt who fits right in without costume change, and I definitely love dressing up as a sexy spook of some sort or another without crossing over into what I consider “fantasy role-playing”.  It’s the dark side that bothers me… some of it is fun, for sure, but others just go too far for me.  It stops being fun and becomes uncomfortable or even revolting, and that is (to say the least) rather off-putting.  That said, it’s easy enough to avoid and ignore those things inworld… not so much in the real world where there’s true horror occurring  every day, without the fantasy element.  But then that’s what SL is all about, isn’t it?  Avoiding those things in RL that we would prefer to forget about for just a little while while we enjoy those things that we do.  And on that note, I’m taking my sexy witch look out to do some shopping and exploring of all these Halloween themed sims and hunts and events…  happy shopping!

I’m a fae.  My kind is slight of build which enhances our flying and agility.  However, I am not purebred fae… the horns I inherited through my father’s line are more than just proof that I am not pure of blood… they are also a sign that there may be more to me than what first meets the eye.  And indeed, they are an indication of greater strength and dexterity than my appearance would seemingly indicate.  Because of that, I have achieved a somewhat unique status among the tribes… not quite belonging, not quite apart, but valued and praised for my ability to defend all creatures great and small…  So go ahead, make my day… underestimate me… and learn your lesson that appearances can definitely be deceiving…

I’d love to be able to  follow up with some bright snappy dialogue, about letting things be, but it’s too late and I’m too tired for that kind of linguistic creativity.  In fact, the last few days have been more of a case of time not being on my side lol…  and it’s nothing all that much really, but in addition to Ceja moving her tropical home, I moved MY home (we’re now going to be neighbors which will make things much more convenient not just for borrowing that proverbial cup of sugar but also for household and landscaping items that are in the “other one’s” inventory).  So all I’ve been wanting to do is build and landscape and decorate and shop in order to build and landscape and decorate some more.  My new land even includes a mermaid domain, which is soooo much fun but also rather challenging since it’s something I’ve never attempted before.  And that means lots of experimentation, which by definition means some things work and a lot of others don’t.  So yes, I’m definitely seeking some words of wisdom, and who knows? I might even listen!
