Real life has been rearing its ugly — and time-consuming — head, as it so often does, which has caused me to miss so much time at Fantasy Faire. I never even started the quest, even though I bought the HUD and was absolutely determined that this would be the year I actually participated.  I was so NOT happy since this was to be the last weekend & I still had my mermaid pic to do (seems like my last post for FF is ALWAYS a mermaid lol)… but happily Fantasy Faire has been  EXTENDED to MIDNIGHT MAY 13th!  So now there’s time to play and explore and shop and soak up whatever I can in order to hold me for another year until the mists once again open to reveal a brand-new faire!  At this point, FF2026 has relayed L$12,264,067 by the end of the fifteenth Faire day.  As fabulous as that is, we can still do more to help fight for a cancer-free world… so if you haven’t visited the Faire yet — or even if you have — there’s still a few more days to shop with a purpose.  I hope to see you there!

• Tail:  Aii & Ego – Riptide Mermaid.  To this mermaid, there is no more beautiful tail in the SL sea!  Long & narrow, as legs would be if they were pressed together to grow as a tail, they present a truly incredible silhouette.  Sized for Reborn, Maitreya, Legacy F+M, Athletic, & Jake, Riptide includes a built-in Half-AO as well as a 40+ textures customization HUD.  And if that’s not enough, it’s easy to utilize custom textures (like I did here, see next store).  Copy & mod, there is a demo available at the Faire store in Ben Tom Roi HERE.

• Tendrils:  floro x K R E E P – Phyco Tendrils.  Totally unique, these tendrils are rigged, animated, with 15 colors in both legacy & PBR versions.  There are also customizable layers & devkit textures (if you know how to do that; see the Ad below).  I just absolutely love the added fantasy touch these add to my mermaid!  AVAILABLE at the Faire store in Ben Tom Roi, located HERE.  Demo available.

Cleopatra… the very name brings up countless images and stories, even after thousands of years.  Her beauty is legendary, to the point where other queens of Egypt (except maybe for Nefertiti, and that’s probably because of her long neck and the gold collar she wore to accentuate it!) have been relegated to the mists of time.  Here on the grid though, one such as I can compete against the legend, even while imitating her style with the added touch of wings (were there fae in ancient Egypt? who knows for certain)… Just one of the many many personae that can be tried on and experienced through all the fashion goodies available at Fantasy Faire.  And of course Fantasy Faire 2026 is so much more than fashion and shopping — though that is how funds are raised to help fight cancer — there’s the Quest (and purchasing the HUD is a 100% RFL DONATION), music, dancing, role-playing classes, tournaments, a film festival, a literary festival, and and and… Just take a look at the calendar of events.  Come join us, we’re open through May 10th, and Relay for Life!

• Mirror:  ARKONA – Magic Scarab Egypt mirror.  Original mesh with PBR texture, the mirror actually reflects (if you have reflections turned on) & has a “light spark” (see the Ad below); it includes two handheld poses (RH & LH).  Designed with the dress, the mirror is also a 100% RFL DONATION, & is available only at the Faire store in Requiem, located HERE.
• Wings:  Fancy Fairy – Kira LITE Bento Fairy Wings, worn with a Lotus BOM layer which is exclusive to Fantasy Faire for the duration of the event.  The mesh wings (sold separately) are beautifully flowy in design; the set includes 3 sizes with basic AOs for each. What I found to be unique is that the wings themselves are “skeletal” & then you can purchase addon texture sets (two textures are included with the wings), as well as Animation HUDs.  I’ve used the LOTUS BOM pack, which is exclusive to the Faire for the duration of the event. I am so thrilled to once again be an official blogger for Fantasy Faire, a benefit for the American Cancer Society that is dedicated to helping build a world without cancer.  Celebrating it’s 18th year, Fantasy Faire 2026 is the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, roleplayers and performers in the virtual world.  It’s also open for a full 18 days, from April 23rd – May 10th, during which time you can not only shop to your heart’s content across 20 incredibly designed fairelands but you can also treat yourself to dance and theater performances, DJ parties, auctions, questing, our Literary Festival, thematic events and roleplaying, as thousands of Second Life residents and creators bring their own visions together to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer. Since my real life human had a pre-planned vacation, I sadly missed out on the first few days of the Faire, but I’m definitely making up for lost time!!!  Come join us, marvel at the creativity all around you, try something new, & shop for the cause… every store features items that are 100% Relay for Life donations that help support this cause that is so incredibly important… Here’s a complete FF store list, there are so many I can only feature a few items that appealed to me.  Most importantly, have fun!!!!

Sighs, it just goes so fast!  All that anticipation beforehand, all the joy when the Fairelands emerge out of the mists in all new, surprising, amazingly creative forms, and now the sadness as the gates ready to close…  But that is the beauty of the Faire and part of its allure… Luckily the Faire was extended by Patch Linden for two days is open till midnight SLT today May 6th... and who knows? there’s a rumor that the gates may remain open into the next morning, but no guarantees on that!  But there’s still time to explore that one Faireland you may have missed, hit those stores to get those last-minute purchases, and help the goal of building a world without cancer.  Fantasy Faire 2025 has relayed L$24,569,536 by the end of the eighteenth day of the Faire.  There’s still time to kick that number up a notch or two, and at Fantasy Faire, shopping with a cause is just so much fun!  So here I am, sad that it’s ending, happy that I got to spend so much within the gates… So much pressure to make sure I’ve seen and done everything I can!!!! OK, enough sadness about it ending… wipes away my mermaid tears, and flips my tail…  I’m off to enjoy these last hours!  See you at the Faire!!!

Walking around Fantasy Faire is such a unique experience.  Everywhere you turn, there are the most amazing and amazingly imaginative avatars, from fae like me to mermaids and dragons and demons and dinkies (so cute, but it’s easy to accidentally walk on them lol), every kind of animal that exists plus many that don’t, and on and on… all sharing one common goal, to help build a world without cancer!  And doing it by having fun exploring and shopping and dancing and questing and and and… there’s just so much to do!  So come join the fun and join the fight against cancer… and maybe help create the avatar (or the fantasy home) of your dreams!  See you there!

My most favorite time of year, I can’t stop smiling and my wings are getting tired from all the excited flapping!  Dedicated to building a World without Cancer, Fantasy Faire is a megaevent benefitting the American Cancer Society , and is in its 17th year of delighting Second Life residents.  To quote from the press release, Fantasy Faire is “the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, roleplayers and performers in the virtual world.
