In my little corner of the world, life seems to be heading back to normal.  The vast majority of those who want to be vaccinated have done so, which makes everyone more willing to go out and do things.  And as more activities resume after this more-than-a-year-long hiatus, there’s so much more to do!  With the snowbirds returning to the north, it’s starting to get easier to get into classes where spacing is limited because of still-in-effect Covid restrictions.  The bottom line is that I’m busier than ever, both with physical activities and now with a newly invigorated social life.  It really is amazing to me how life has changed since our move in November.  The looming issue are the warnings about how hot it does get here in the summer.  Well, NY was no picnic either with its hot humid summers, but summer here does last about twice as long.  Of course, everything down here is air conditioned and many outdoor restaurant spots have misters, which should help but only time will tell.  At this point, I’m actually enjoying the hot days (we’ve been in the low 90s many times already, but who knows?  All I can do is prepare for the long, hot summer ahead! (And of course, shop… there’s always shopping!!!!)

Life definitely seems to be in free fall.  Like kids at summer camp, we’re busy running around trying all kinds of new activities.  At this point, almost all of them are physical since “mental” activities tend to be indoors which means most either aren’t happening yet or I won’t feel comfortable enough until the two weeks have passed since I got my 2nd vaccine.  And therein lies the problem… mentally we’re totally into bouncing from new activity to new activity… physically our bodies are going “whoa baby, let’s talk about this”.  I’m gimping around a bit, and am almost ready (I think) to try out my new bicycle again (seat was too low and I really hurt my knee last time); hubs is in horrible pain from something he did to his hamstring.  Urgent Care didn’t help; waiting for a doctor appointment now, but it’s been a couple of weeks of non-activity with incredible pain for him.  This has necessarily meant that I’ve needed to temporarily take over all the chores and errands he normally handles, plus wait on him as much as he’ll allow… On top of that, I tried taking apart my desk chair to try to figure out the type of gas cylinder it needs (no manufacturer name on the chair, how is that possible lol), it’s still in pieces on the floor (I’m not the most mechanically minded), so I’m sitting on a highly uncomfortable bridge chair…  All of this creating a situation where being inworld, let alone blogging, has been more difficult.  Free falling, indeed!  But despite all that, absolutely no way I would miss this absolutely adorable little outfit (and neither should you!)…  and on that note, happy shopping!

Ugh, there are times I can really hate February.  It’s just so short… you’d be amazed how those 2 or 3 days really impact you in a month of blogging when most events don’t start until the 2nd week.  Think of it this way… that 2 or 3 days is at least one and possibly two blogs the way I shoot/post (I’m on the slower side because I take a zillion shots for every post, with very rare exceptions).  This year February has been even harder because I’m still settling into my new, much more active life, and I’m finding that my blogging hours are severely shorted and my energy severely diminished as well.  I also received my first COVID 19 shot, and unlike most people, I did get a killer migraine as a reaction to shot #1 that lasted for a few days… nothing serious, thankfully, but enough that I couldn’t sit at a computer and concentrate, let alone be creative. That said I know in the scheme of things this is all minor bs; I’m incredibly lucky to have this new active lifestyle, to have received my shot, and to have a fabulous bunch of sponsors who generally understand that when Second Life and real life conflict, well, real life just has to win out.  (And believe me, that is something I have fought time and again in the 14 years I’ve been here!)  But I am human (sadly sometimes, lol), and I do spend quite a bit of time in “If Only” mode.  At the moment, it’s “if only I had a few more days”… but alas, life doesn’t work that way as we all know.  The best thing in Second Life that I know for this ailment is shopping therapy!!!!  May you be as happy in your shopping as I am in mine lol!

I’m already bored with winter (yes, even here in Florida!), so I’m taking a short blogging break from all that snow (who knows, the break may be only one post, but still, a break is a break).  With Covid ramping up so, I’m spending more and more time at home, and I’m finding that means lots of conversations with my animals (a dog, two cats, and two parakeets).  I thought I’d bring some of that into my Second Life as well!  Just like the rest of the world, I’m waiting for life to get back to normal, whatever that is.  In the meantime, thank goodness for online shopping and everything else… which brings me to my standard tagline lol!  Happy shopping!

I realize how extremely fortunate I am to have such good things happening in my life at a time when so many people are suffering, and I also know that it’s something that I worked very hard for a very, very, very long time.  I also know that an awful lot of people have been forced into much less-positive moves, against their will. But I do have to also say that this is EXHAUSTING.  No matter how many things I cross off the list, even more are being added.  We did have a few pieces of furniture delivered today, so now at least we have chairs to sit on.  But the POD arrived as well, and we have just a couple of days to unload it all and then start the process of figuring out every item’s new home. And then, and then, and then, and then, and then…  grabbing even a short bit of time for myself to just “be” is priceless… hmmm, maybe this is actually a self-portrait (though NEVER in shoes like these)?!?  Happy shopping!

Halloween season is a confusing time for fantasy creatures. Suddenly it’s hard to share that immediate recognition of like-kind when all these humans are disguising themselves and wearing wings, horns, tails and more.  On the other hand, it’s possible to get a better sense of human culture when you’re not singled out for being different but are instead accepted as another “person” getting into the spirit of the holidays.  The best news though is that suddenly there is a wealth of outfits and accessories available from designers who don’t normally cater to our kind, not to mention all the special events and festivals!  I might need to use a little magic to expand my closet, but oh, it will be so worth it! Sometimes you just need to run away and forget what’s going on, even if it’s only for a few hours.  The fact that I’m blogging is in itself a sign that my plans didn’t materialize as planned.  The car was packed, we were ready to go, when we realized that with everything blowing up and needing attention that we really needed to stay and deal with the “old” house before we took off to figure out things with the “new” house.  Costs keep escalating.  Time is getting shorter.  As you can imagine, the stress level is skyrocketing.  This is when people go looking for a short-lived distraction, something to completely keep their minds off their issues for even a few hours.  For me, that distraction continues to be Second Life and my blogging.  So even though my hands may be too full to meet my normal schedule of blogging, you’ll still be hearing from me.  Hope that’s good news lol! I’ve always loved waterfalls, big ones, small ones, doesn’t matter.  Something about the sound, the feel, that freshness in the air all around them is just so invigorating both to body and spirit.  The big waterfalls are inspiring and mesmerizing; little ones entice you to draw ever closer to their magic.  A mystical way to start a fae’s busy day!  Happy shopping!

As a blogger, you tend to wear a lot more fashion than a non-blogging avatar.  And if it’s one thing I’ve learned, outfits tend to fall into 5 categories: things I’d NEVER wear, things that look good “on the hangar” but just don’t fit my body/shape to advantage, things that look good, and things that not only look good, they make me feel good too.  This little dress falls into that last, absolutely best category.  Somehow the combination of the cut of the dress and those glorious polka dots make me swing my hips with just a bit more swagger and feel perky and more attractive, while I hear Roy Orbison singing in my head.  Maybe it’s because this dress looks simply amazing from the back, I don’t know.  All I know is that it’s been a while since I just haven’t felt like changing to the next outfit because I feel so good in this one!  Happy shopping!
