Well, SL life and blogging goes on… My blog is up and working, with a few bugs to figure out (if I can, WP and web designing/managing is definitely outside of my wheelhouse); my beach lot — which I had set up and maintained basically for blogging beachy stuff, but rarely used) — is emptied and up for sale.  Found some abandoned land I like for Thea’s new home (I’m giving her my tier allowance so she can have a bigger place for HER fantasy blogging/SL life)… and of course there’s always SL date night and dancing, dancing, dancing!!! When I posted this pic to Flickr, this headline was true… then I finally got my migration to work by coming up with a workaround: I got my OLD hosting company to upgrade my storage on a prorated basis for the one week of hosting I had left, for the whopping cost of $2.88!!! Best couple of dollars I’ve spent in a looooong time! After that, the migration went smoothly. Then came switching the domain from the original host to the new one… not quite as simple as it should have been, since the only support on the new host is an AI, and as I’m quickly learning, if you don’t ask your questions exactly the right way, you don’t always get the answer you need. All that said, after a week of emotional ups and downs (and one minor meltdown when I thought I’d have to abandon this blog after 8 long years of dedication), I’m back up and running. I’m sure there will be some kinks (probably a lot of them), but those can be figured out. Anyway, I’m back to shopping, back to posting, and back to blogging! Woo-hoo, no more tears!!!

Well, i might be jumping the gun a bit, but then again, maybe not so much!  The calendar may be saying it’s still summer, but it’s definitely starting to feel more fall-like.   During summer in FL, you feel like you’re melting out in the sun doing any kind of activity.  Yesterday, I actually had to wear a light jacket both in the early morning and at dog-walking time in the early evening… and THAT’s the biggest indicator that fall is starting to arrive.  SL stores and sales are brimming with pumpkins and sunflowers (probably featured in my next shot lol!) and even Halloween items (though that’s pushing it a bit far IMHO).  All those lovely photogenic sims are starting to shift as well… me, I’m hoping to jump to a new island before I change mine over lol!  But now it’s time for all that weekend shopping… have fun!

The calendar may not agree that summer is officially over (that day is Sept 22nd), but for most people, Labor Day is the unofficial end.  Even here in central FL, temps are down and a light sweatshirt is needed after dark (though I’m sure it won’t last lol).  IRL stores are already flaunting Halloween and even Thanksgiving paraphernalia (which I think is pushing it a bit), and here on the grid, fall fashions and that gorgeous autumn scenery is rapidly taking over.  I’m already pondering how I’ll redo my land for autumn and when I’ll swap out my tanned summer skin… but for this moment, I’m still enjoying the brilliant sun, deep blue skies, and sexy summer wear! As you may/may not know about me, I grew up in the heart of NYC.  Until about 4 1/2 years ago, I lived in the NY suburbs.  All my life, I was surrounded by excellent bread of all types.   Hot pretzels from a street vendor… mmm delish! Then we moved here to central Florida, where it seems that there’s no such thing as “good bread”.  It’s all too doughy, with none of that crispness or chew.  We finally, FINALLY, found some good pizza… however, it’s quite a bit of a drive, which means that it’s too far for that “oh I don’t want to cook, let’s just order pizza” time (although they’re opening a branch right near us in October!!!).  There’s a German bakery about 45 minutes away, which is good for heavy dense bread, but baguettes and breads for sandwiches and just to grab a hunk? Not to be found…  So a pic like this is a bit of a peek into a food dream of mine — I even made it bright and sunny, like Florida lol and it of course includes coffee!…  Bon appetit!

Sometimes it’s the little things that make life sweet, that little highlight that makes you just feel how good everything can be.  For me, it often revolves around food (which is both the good news AND the bad news)…  I always felt that ice cream should be its own food group, at the very top of the pyramid.  I’m a total addict for that creamy concoction in all its varieties.  If things are going well, it’s that extraspecial little spark… when things are going the other way, it makes me feel better (at least temporarily)… and when the sun is shining but it’s not TOO hot, my hair blowing in the wind, well, that’s definitely la dolce vita!

There’s nothing quite like the feel of walking barefoot in the sand… or that “oops” feeling when the sand ends and you need to scramble over rocks or gravel or shells or splintering docks.  Sadly, I can no longer go barefoot IRL, my poor feet and ankles  just can’t take it any more, but here on the grid, I can go shoeless to my heart’s content!  So here I go a-wanderin’, along the beach, over the rocks, exploring wherever my feet take me!
