I don’t usually do lingerie, but sometimes wow, an outfit just knocks my socks off (literally in this case lol) and DEMANDS that I do a photoshoot. That said, I had an image in my head that I just couldn’t manage to either capture or get rid of, so it took me a bit to just let go and see where I ended up. I have to admit that I need to do that more often… once I did, it just kind of flowed… hopefully, lesson learned!

Hot wine… the perfect antidote to forgetting your coat in the cold!

Hot mulled wine seems to be a big thing in parts of Europe… It was everywhere we went in Europe last month, which was a very good thing considering how cold it was and how insufficient my coat was at keeping the cold at bay (hey, I live in Florida; my outerwear — and the ability to carry it on a plane — is limited lol!). Personally, I still prefer hot apple cider, which I guess is more of an American thing, but one of the friends I was traveling with went wild over the wine! And it certainly does warm you up AND give you that relaxed sultry feeling that you can only get from red wine… wish I had some here before I go out in our version of cold (which is definitely NOT what I used to experience up north) and do more shopping! Autumn Dreams

Lying under a tree, listening to tunes on a refreshing fall day, enjoying the colorful beauty all around me… definitely an “autumn dream”. My real life autumn day is definitely NOT going that way… first off, jury duty (ugh, but it was short and sweet, they even entertained those of us waiting in the juror pool, sans all electronic devices, with dad jokes (some were actually good lol). Then driving home on backroads through pre-hurricane madness (forget the highway, not even moving), only to see the news updates. Bottom line, Milton is heading directly to my house (it looks like we are smack dab in the middle). Thankfully, we’re inland (dead center of the state) but still, power outages are highly likely, wind damage a definitely possibility. Not much we can do but hunker down for the duration. I will be letting all my sponsors know that my ability to blog may be severely impacted (AND I’m leaving for a vacay in 2 weeks). Needless to say, lots of stress! Takes a deep breath, thinks of that tree and my headphones, and tries to relax…

Just breathe…

Sometimes you just need a moment to breathe… Considering I no longer have an ultra-demanding job, it’s amazing how stressed I can get. My 5+ year-old computer has been struggling, not just with SL (BUGSPLAT!) but freezing even with everyday tasks… freezing to the point of having to unplug it, even the power button not working. We’re going on a 3-week-long vacation in October, and with 3 pets at home, making arrangements for their in-home care has been a huge issue. And don’t even let me get started with all the health issues that have been cropping up. Hopefully today marks the beginning of the end for all that. Computer is ordered. New monitor is ordered. Pet care is arranged. Doctors have been/are being seen. And I just downloaded a new updated version of Firestorm, so hopefully all that crashing after TPing home will be done. Breathes deep and appreciates the beauty around me… Enjoy!

I’m definitely starting to feel more comfortable doing photography with PBR… getting a bunch of PBR-enabled windlights has definitely helped, but plenty of the older ones work well with a few tweaks as needed. Sadly though, my technology woes continue… is it the PBR that keeps making me crash, or is it my poor struggling computer? I think it’s that PBR is just pushing my computer to its limits (and past!!!), so an upgrade is definitely imminent., especially since my current computer can’t be upgraded to Windows 11. I unfortunately missed out on a sale price because I was still researching all the options, with an eye towards “future-proofing” (I’d rather spend a bit more now, and have my computer last that much longer). But either way, I’m getting better at finding the shot I want, and then actually capturing it! Enjoy!
