Getting formal is so alien to my lifestyle that it’s both a fun treat and a somewhat difficult exercise.  But when an outfit just has that extra-something that makes it a completely different look from anything you’ve done before, well, why resist temptation???  I will admit though… formal shots are a challenge (as is any formal event IRL as well)… And of course it’s always the ideas in your head… the color I chose for this is not that different from what I wore as the mother-of-the-bride when my daughter got married… and THAT of course got me thinking about using a wedding venue or the bride’s room for getting ready.  I disappeared down that rabbit hole for several hours before reversing direction because after all, the focus is on the LOOK and not on the setting.  But boy, do I really need a glass of champagne!

Mother’s Day is such a strange kind of holiday.   When you’re a little kid, it’s a really big deal.  When you’re a bigger kid, it’s a roll-your-eyes kind of thing.  And when you’re a way-bigger kid, out on your own, it’s either “Oh, s**t, I forgot to call my mom or “Hey, I’m talking to my mom, it’s Mother’s Day.”  And now that I no longer have a mom, it’s more like “I wish I could still talk to you, especially now on Mother’s Day”.   All of which makes me wonder, how do MY kids really feel about it, hmmm?  Well, be that as it may, I’m going to have a great day… nothing big, mind you, just a great day.  And that’s quite big enough for me!  So to all the moms, daughters & sons, grandmas and more out there as well, no matter where you are in life, or the cards you were born with, have a great Mother’s Day as well!

I struggled here a bit whether to title this along the lines of the action in the pic or what I immediately thought of the moment I saw this dress… TEMPTATION.  But I fell in love with this capture, so it won out pretty quickly.  And it WAS a capture, rather than a static pose, which is something I try not to do TOO often because it just gets so frustrating waiting for that perfect second and actually hitting it lol, but we were off in a corner so I felt ok to put on my lights, and shoot!  It also feels really good to have a blogging pic with my partner again… one Flickr friend will often fave  some of my very old pix (2017!) and back then, he was inworld more often and therefore made it into a lot more Flickr shots (my inworld photo album shots just don’t have the same quality for obvious reasons).   Those pix in particular are like a stroll down memory lane… it’s nice to be adding another pic for future “thumbing”, especially one that radiates so much fun and energy, dancing the night away before yielding to the dress’s message about other nighttime activities!!! (wink)

All dressed up and nowhere to go!  This is one of those outfits that just told me what it wants, and it definitely wanted a motorcycle.  It felt kind of “punky”, reminding me of how Sandy dressed at the end of Grease.  So much fun, and the details (see below)! I love the change of seasons.  They’re not as dramatic down here in FL as I experienced up in NY, which is a mixed blessing.  I don’t miss the cold and the snow and the ice, and we’re already having simply glorious days, but spring and autumn just don’t have the same edge as they did up north.  My body is happy about that; my mind, sometimes just not as much.  That said, spring is happening all over here on the grid, and I am just reveling in all the burgeoning color!  Enjoy!
