Today’s the day…  the 2021 Fantasy Faire is going to end.  I’m so very thankful that it was extended through today the 12th (it was scheduled to end on the 9th): in the last few days I’ve managed to more deeply experience some realms that I’d barely touched upon earlier, not to mention pick up so many wonderful finds for both my home & garden and for my appearance.  Fantasy Faire has already relayed more than $86,000USD to help fight against cancer, and I’m proud to say that more than a few of my precious lindens are in that count!  (In fact, though my heart and mind are sad that FF is ending, my wallet is very very happy!).  I do want to say that I’ve been so very impressed by so many fantasy designers, and have been inspired to take some new risks and experiment with my look more than before. .. I even went out and bought some new land to create my own fantasy hideaway, rather than continue living in my Linden treehouse (that’s where yesterday’s post was, on my new land!!!)  But I couldn’t let the Faire end without at least one more post, one more character… not a warrior, not a princess, but more of a priestess, getting ready to close the portals till next year…  Spreading a little fairy dust in these few words, wishing you Happy Shopping, and a wonderful end to your Faire experience.

  • Outfit:  Dark Fairy Fashions – Ageate Gown (Agate Galaxy).  A medieval velvet gown with cropped shoulders, finger sleeves, & a metallic gold belt, Ageate is a perfect addition to a fantasy wardrobe!     • Skin:  Lazulien Gemstone Skin, worn in Bahliea.  Every skin from this designer is highly detailed, gorgeously styled, & pure fantasy to its core.  I just love the subtle texturing/shading of this skin, which is available in 25 color variations; gemstones are on the tattoo layer.  In Bom/Omega/mesh body & head applier versions for both male & female, plus add-ons for nails, Uni ears, etc., so it should work for just about every avatar. 
    • Horns:  Sanya Decohorns, which are 100% custom design, have two different color HUDs available (color or fade; I’m using the fade); both HUDs include options to individually color the horn base, the metals, the skulls, ribbons, tassels, & gems.  Unisex, moddable, & resizable!
    • Staff: Araleus Staff.  100% custom mesh & textures, with a HUD to change everything (30 colors for the metals; 40 for the fabric; another 40 for the gemstones!  Unisex, with 12 bento holds.

The worst gatchas are where you want only one of everything available; the very best are where you want anything & EVERYTHING.  Castanys Kel is definitely positively an awesome example of the very best! As you can see in the key below, every item is a want-to-win, & although they all work fabulously together, every single item is a winner!  And there’s so much there — the Stygian outfit, yes (with HUDs too!), but also a full skin in BOM with optional ears, decorated horns, eyes, matching jewelry (with HUDs!), tattoos, even makeup, plus the orb!  I’m wearing everything in the key below except for the eyes.  See the closeup below.

Brrr, it may be sunny here in Florida but it’s in the 30s! I’ve had to drag out some of my winter wear lol… certainly not what I expected! But I have to admit that it makes me appreciate blogging fantasy even more.  I mean, yes, SL by itself is somewhat of an escape, but when I’m doing fantasy?  For example, to do this post I ended up exploring and shooting in Greenhaven, a role-playing sim.  I’m minding my own business, wandering around, then doing a shoot, when first I am welcomed by who turns out to be the owner of the Greenhaven sims.  Lovely conversation, and I continue to shoot, only to be confronted a short time later by a pair of “watchers” who are guarding the caverns nearby.  Granted, I was in a rather challenging pose, but still I was quite thankful that I’ve done enough medieval role play as a fae to understand the proper forms of address, and have a ready backstory so that I was able to not only get them to sheath their swords but to welcome me to their lands.  Never a dull moment!!! And I must admit, so much fun that it has made me once again consider the pros of joining one of the many roleplaying communities that abound on the grid.  I certainly have the look when there are such fabulous finds as this!!!   • Head & Ears:  LOGO  – Chelsea bento head with Ilvanya Elf Ears.  I’ve blogged the new Chelsea head before… I think she is absolutely stunning straight out of the box, but customized her just enough to be a bit different & was thrilled… BUT didn’t truly discover all of her potential until I added the phenomenal elf ears & styled her for fantasy… Let’s just say that my fae look is finally done! I really can’t say enough about these ears… because they are designed by LOGO for LOGO heads, they fit seamlessly at all times into the head (see the closeup below).  In two sizes with a HUD to customize chains, gems, & even the ear tattoos, they would easily be among the best I’ve ever worn, but the truly spectacular feature of these ears that kicks them up even another level is that they have a special AO of their own.  Talk about expressive!!!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these ears!!!!

It’s not easy being fae, at least if you don’t dress in the “normal” (and much more common) human style.  There just are not as many sources for quality, well-designed fantasy wear that fits your particular style of roleplay.  Every time I discover a creative and talented fantasy designer, it makes my wings go all a-flutter.  The fact that I’ve added another fantasy sponsor has opened new vistas of opportunity, and strengthened my ability to contribute even more to this blog.  I look forward to continuing to develop my look, flaunting all kinds of fantasy items (um, I mean demonstrating). I’ll never forget the first time I saw The Little Mermaid.  In a lot of ways, it was earth-shattering. Before that, taking your kid to see a movie was something you HAD to do.  Now don’t get me wrong; the Disney Classics like Cinderella and Snow White and Dumbo certainly are watchable the first time or two.  But The Little Mermaid was the first of what I felt was “an animated Broadway production”.  The music, the dialog, even the story all blew me away, with all those double meanings to entertain the parents.  It ushered in a new era of children’s entertainment, and as a parent I was able to thoroughly enjoy it myself (though I’ll admit it does get difficult on the 100th watching lol).  This pic is my homage to Ariel and Scuttle, and all I can say is you’re lucky that there’s no sound with my blog so you can’t hear me singing (I can’t carry a tune whatsoever).  The song is oddly appropriate for the times we’re living in as well; I know I saw something on YouTube using this song, as we were all adjusting to stay-at-home restrictions and lack of social contact.  My region enters Phase 2 today, but I’m having knee surgery this afternoon, so it will still be a little bit before I can go where the people are… but I CAN flip my mermaid tail and go swim through the Blake Sea… how much fun is that!!!  Almost my entire mermaid look is all from one fabulous place… Happy shopping!
