Yup, at this time of year, To Trick or To Treat, that is definitely the question.  And every time you dress, it’s throwing on just a little something extra that’s in the spirit of the season (if not dressing entirely Halloween-style, at least in SL).  This time, a little winged and horned headband adds that sense of Halloween to an otherwise totally sensible and oh-so-wearable two-piece outfit with such lovely little details — not just the subtly striped texture of the white shirt or the plaid of the skirt or the optional contrasting tone of the sash, but the way the fabric wrinkles on the lower arms and across the legs when you move. The power of fashion can be truly amazing — you slip on a dress, and it can be only what I can call transformative, not just to your look, but to your mood, to your whole being. An abandoned warehouse… what a marvelous photo background! The minute I saw it, I knew I had to work with it, but I’ll admit it took a bit for the pieces to fall together because (as usual) I started to overthink it. You really never know where inspiration will come from.  Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was bemoaning how Halloween was already becoming ho hum? Then wham! I see these awesome “Grim Graves” props from Circa and suddenly here I am, excited to be doing a whole new Halloween-themed post lol… So much more fun to be in the Halloween spirit … I don’t know what had come over me… maybe I ate a bad shroom lol… in any case, I absolutely ADORE this look I put together.  And I DO mean “put together” because it’s lot’s of assorted bits and pieces from JR Wolf Creations, a designer that is new to me because I never realized they made things in Tonic sizes! Wow, hard to believe Halloween is still more than 3 weeks away, it’s so prevalent here in Second Life. EVERYTHING is Halloween this, Halloween that. And yes, I’m just as guilty as everyone else, maybe even more so than some… my SL home has Halloween decor, and this is actually my 2nd-Halloween-themed blog post… Granted, some of the creativity around the grid is totally amazing to see, but already some of it is beginning to seem kind of ho-hum. I can just imagine some of the characters turning to each other and saying, geez, another three weeks of THIS? Wow, it’s been a whole year since I started this blog. So much has changed in that time, and as I look back over my portfolio of images, I can see that not only have my pix gotten better, but I’ve also begun to develop a style of my own.  I can only hope to continue to grow the more I work and pay attention and learn and develop my skills. I’m also thrilled to be getting additional sponsors, my newest being Designer Circle — which happens to be one of my favorite events, so it’s a real feather in my cap for me.  It’s a bit late though, since we’re already entering the 2nd and final week of this round, so I’m featuring three products from the event in this one blog. I simply LOVE this time of year. There’s a snap in the air, my boots are back in the closet (if not quite on my feet, but soon!), and here in SL, things are really heating up! I really wonder sometimes how the designers keep coming up with such wonderful creations, but this month their creative juices are just overflowing! There are so many wonderful things to blog, I’m actually finding that my creativity is being stimulated just by virtual contact!!
