I LOVED this outfit the moment I saw it. It’s just all about balance, which is so important, in ALL aspects of life. Somehow to me, this look evokes a sense of the past while being very on target with present fashion. The white texture — which stays constant — is wonderfully detailed; the choice of blues can make getting dressed a bit difficult (this one, no this one, no no maybe this one)!  The way it crosses at both the chest and at the hips/legs is extremely flattering, sexy while totally maintaining a level of class.  Thankfully, it’s Second Life and I don’t have to worry about staying warm! 😉

And wow, things are certainly burning bright for me at the moment! I’m thrilled to announce another new sponsor, 7 Deadly s[K]ins, my favorite skin-maker! I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again, but the creativity that abounds in Second Life constantly amazes me. I’m fortunate enough to now be blogging for a designer who likes to create some very, VERY original things. When I first unpacked this hat and put it on, I was just mezmerized… yes, it’s a witch’s hat, but one so different and so unique, with the face, and gaping mouth, and little nymph who was obviously swallowed and captured (you can see her move around a bit, and glow stronger), and emits green particles that are (and this is EXTREMELY important to me) NOT annoying.  It’s amazing to wear, but did take a little thinking to play it off perfectly. Tonic’s new group gift, Creepy Hands — especially paired with the extra-long pointy Bento nails — really took it to the max I thought. I had the green skin and costume already, and voila! Spellbinding!!! 😉

Yup, at this time of year, To Trick or To Treat, that is definitely the question.  And every time you dress, it’s throwing on just a little something extra that’s in the spirit of the season (if not dressing entirely Halloween-style, at least in SL).  This time, a little winged and horned headband adds that sense of Halloween to an otherwise totally sensible and oh-so-wearable two-piece outfit with such lovely little details — not just the subtly striped texture of the white shirt or the plaid of the skirt or the optional contrasting tone of the sash, but the way the fabric wrinkles on the lower arms and across the legs when you move. That’s what makes it look so real and natural. And the MUG! Looks totally like high quality ceramic, the heavy kind that really keeps your coffee hot. The power of fashion can be truly amazing — you slip on a dress, and it can be only what I can call transformative, not just to your look, but to your mood, to your whole being. I found this aptly named Glam Dress to have that power… I could feel the satin caress my skin, and although I admittedly spent an inordinate amount of time switching the color from the gold to the gorgeous green to the light blue to the bright blue and back again (the other 12 colors didn’t tempt me thankfully), once I slipped the shoes on that came with the dress (one less decision to make, yay) I felt EMPOWERED.  Sadly, only other Tonic wearers can share this since the dress is exclusively made in Tonic sizes, but the insanely gorgeous jewelry that sets it off perfectly — and has the most detailed and multi-option HUDs to change every single detail on both of the necklaces and on the earrings — is available to all.

An abandoned warehouse… what a marvelous photo background! The minute I saw it, I knew I had to work with it, but I’ll admit it took a bit for the pieces to fall together because (as usual) I started to overthink it. It’s been a whirlwind week of unpacking boxes, sorting through inventory, putting together looks, figuring out sets, scouting locations, selecting final images, writing posts, putting up blogs, and repeat, that I finally collapsed and took a day off for a whirlwind day of real life activity.  I NEVER would have thought that “this little blog” would sometimes require more work and attention than a RL home and business!!! You really never know where inspiration will come from.  Wasn’t it just yesterday that I was bemoaning how Halloween was already becoming ho hum? Then wham! I see these awesome “Grim Graves” props from Circa and suddenly here I am, excited to be doing a whole new Halloween-themed post lol… So much more fun to be in the Halloween spirit … I don’t know what had come over me… maybe I ate a bad shroom lol… in any case, I absolutely ADORE this look I put together.  And I DO mean “put together” because it’s lot’s of assorted bits and pieces from JR Wolf Creations, a designer that is new to me because I never realized they made things in Tonic sizes! And look: even these absolutely ADORABLE little half-gloves come in Tonic!!!  Everything fits together so perfectly it looks like it was created as an outfit!
