Today is my 11th Anniversary in Second Life. Yup, 11 years, in SL with the same guy, and I know for a fact that’s a bit unusual, a rare “rose” we’ve cultivated.  During that time, we’ve helped each other through a lot of real life difficulties; we’ve both lost jobs, lost our dads, had all kinds of personal struggles, and I have to say, having someone who thoroughly understands and supports you — but is totally outside your day-to-day life with no real world connection — can do more for your mental well-being than you might realize.  Like any relationship, though, it’s not always easy.  These days our time together is extremely limited… the “thorns” if you will… though maybe it’s also why we’re still so thrilled to find time to be together, who knows?  All I know is that time seems to go both so fast and so slow… there’s never enough of it and yet sometimes I feel like all I do is wait lol!  Ahhh the paradox of time… Though thinking about time is why I purposely chose this particular gown for our anniversary celebration… in a strange way, it seems to capture the essence of time, it just has that period glamour about it, that special allure… 😉

One of my favorite all-time quotes is “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans” (which is often mistakenly attributed to John Lennon who included it in lyrics to Beautiful Boy which is where I first heard it), and all I can say is that my life is certainly not looking the way I thought it would. This is probably true of most people, but of course, it only really seems true and meaningful and poignant when it’s your own life.  The fact is I love my blogging but I aged out of my chosen field a few years ago, and with the world being as it is, it’s becoming more and more important that I find something, anything, to start bringing some cash in, rather than be choosy and “so hard to please.”  Real Life is definitely overrated… even in the chill of winter there’s nothing like escaping to my little oasis in Second Life and feel the waves gently rocking the boat… 😉

So winter is definitely getting me down. On top of that, I can barely even watch the news any more. I have spring on the brain. I’ve been off tattoos for a little while now; not really sure why. But wow, this tattoo from Juna has me back in tattoo-world big-time. The gorgeous colors and the stunning image… well, let’s just say that I built this entire look around the tat… I even considered going full jungle setting to play off the lion, but felt that would have been going too far, and to be honest, I’ve never really enjoyed scouting locations dressed in my scanties lol… (you can’t see it in this pic, but the back of this outfit is quite, well, “scanty”)… Not too bad to find waiting under the tree though, is it?  😉

Oh my, this outfit by Tonic is named so perfectly! It’s caused me so much Trouble in so many ways lol! First, I spent a ridiculous amount of time deciding which color to wear, because I kept liking each one more than the next… and then because the adorable little shrug has its color set separately, I kept debating whether to have it match the darker color of the dress or look totally separate. Don’t even get me started on the HUD for the shoes where you set the color of the main body and the bow separately! Then it looks so amazing on, well, let’s just say it garnered some attention and several IMs asking me where I’d gotten it.
