Every battle, every fight, every decision, every law, creates winners and losers.  And win or lose, there are the fallen, the lost.  And even when we celebrate the wins, we need to remember and honor those who didn’t make it to that point, including those on the other side.  There’s just so much pain and suffering and strife in our world today, and it seems that it’s getting worse… freedoms are disappearing, and the world is entering a darker place.  So I, for one, try to take some time to honor and remember, even in a fantasy world where we can create our own reality… Life is truly what we make of it…

  • Outfit:  Jangka Design – Kallista.  Awesome style & detailing (as always).  I especially love the little fur collar, the “chest chains”, & the big metallic medallion at the waist (see the ad below). Sometimes I really wonder about the human race… how have they survived this long? They seem so hellbent on destroying everything — the environment, other species, even themselves… Some of us who live deep within the forests work tirelessly to protect our own and all the members and parts of our hidden worlds.  Our network of spies and operatives is extensive and often hidden just beyond human sight… all those strange things that sometimes happen without any seeming explanation but successfully foil what is laughingly called “progress” is our network operating ceaselessly to foil human plans and protect the realms… So the next time you hear of something that couldn’t POSSIBLY have happened, look closely, and you just might catch a glimpse of me or one of my compatriots…

It may not actually be midsummer yet here IRL, but lucky for us,  Midsummer Enchantment is here in SL!  Brought to you by Dark Passions Events, the beauty and wonder of fairyland fantasy is on display for your shopping pleasure from June 21st – July 5th, featuring items for both your avatar and your home & garden.  And on top of that, there’s a hunt!  There’s too much for one poor fae to possibly show (see below for descriptions of the few that I’ve chosen for this pic), so take a look at the shopping gallery to see more of what’s available.  But be sure to go explore in person… it’s a beautiful fairyland setting! I may not be a fan of the more macabre side of Halloween, but I am constantly amazed at so much of the creativity I see around me.  Some of the builds are so fabulous, my shoots take forever because I get so lost in the experience and just spend hours exploring…  And the events!!!  For a fae like me to be able to wander at an event and not draw looks because of my skin, my wings, my horns… well, it’s definitely an interesting experience to fit in so easily outside of a role play region!  One event that should definitely be on your DON’T MISS list is the 7th Annual Trick-or-Treat Lane! Grab your treat bags and your favorite ghouls to explore this year’s witches’ brew themed venue. 56 designers have been conjuring some amazing creations and special gifts just for you! Note that some of the trick-y ghosts hid some of the free treats in the booths too! The event is from Dark Passions, and runs from Oct 7 – Nov 1, 2022; it’s awesome Halloween fun for humans & non-humans alike!!!
