I remember when I was a kid and I never knew what I was getting as gifts for the holidays. Well, it’s taken a while, but I’m beginning to understand why some bloggers don’t name their images and their posts, but just number their looks. Although I’ve never ever found it difficult to get started putting a look together, some days (or nights), it’s just hard to get started with something to say, let alone title an image or a blog. http://It’s been a rough few days… first, I got a cold. I hate colds! You feel miserable, but you’re not really sick enough to do anything about it BUT feel miserable. Second, although my pic is celebrating shopping success, my shopping is NOT all done; for the holidays, yes, but my family is loaded with birthdays right around the holidays as well, and I’m totally stuck on some of those. And one of those birthdays is mine, which always gets me kind of depressed, thinking of all I haven’t accomplished, how old I’m getting (and no, I’m not saying! Ceja is permanently in her mid-20s!), and the cold just makes it worse. Oh my, this outfit by Tonic is named so perfectly! It’s caused me so much Trouble in so many ways lol! First, I spent a ridiculous amount of time deciding which color to wear, because I kept liking each one more than the next… and then because the adorable little shrug has its color set separately, I kept debating whether to have it match the darker color of the dress or look totally separate. Don’t even get me started on the HUD for the shoes where you set the color of the main body and the bow separately! Then it looks so amazing on, well, let’s just say it garnered some attention and several IMs asking me where I’d gotten it. It’s already a whirlwind holiday season in Second Life, with even more events than usual and tons of wonderful must-have items both to buy and to blog, some supporting American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life (which I always indicate in the blog copy). I’ve been so inspired by what some other bloggers are doing in terms of setting up entire room scenes that I decided to give it a try. Of course, since I’m primarily a fashion blogger, I still had to put myself in the middle of it all lol! I was lucky enough to have found the sim Northern Lights, which is open to all — including rezzing! — even the houses (at least for now, since the sim is ALMOST complete but not quite). I was able to find a house that completely fit my purposes — the room was the right size, the right angle, and I was able to easily derender the existing fireplace in order to replace it with my own so that nothing in the set was there beforehand other than the walls and windows, which clearly showed a beautiful snowy landscape outside. Creating this scene was fun to do, it was extremely challenging, and I’ll admit that it’s definitely no accident that I’m having a martini!!! But all for a good cause, because ALL the room decor that I used is from the SL Christmas Expo 2018, which runs through Dec 9th — all of it with items donated by designers with 100% of the proceeds going to Relay for Life! — and is therefore part of the fight against cancer!
