Things have been a bit frustrating of late, on the grid and off.   Crashing, teleport fails, rezzing in to HUDs having reset (really a pain for a blogger with HUDs for every clothing item — sometimes even faces on a single item, makeup, hair, jewelry, shoes)… it can be a lot.  And yes, I TRY to write down every choice I make (“try” being the operative word).  On FlickR, views are way down for some reason, which in turn affects faves and awards… all the things a blogger needs to satisfy current and prospective sponsors, not to mention keeping their own spirits and confidence up.  IRL, our cable has been acting up, impacting our streaming channels the most, but sometimes the internet as well (more blogging stress).  And I wish that was all, but  that said, sometimes you just have to put your chin up and your shoulders back, toss your hair, check your nails, and remind yourself that “you got this”.  Seriously, though, I DO have to give myself that little pep talk to boost my confidence both in SL and IRL more often than I would like, but also more often than not, it DOES work.  Remember… you got this!  See you at the stores!

It’s only 9:30A and it’s already one of those days. I guess it has to happen sometimes, but it’s just not fun.  That said, my mind is a blur, I’m on edge, and time is disappearing while I wait for call-backs, etc.  Perfect timing for this photo! Aaaargh… I think I need some shopping therapy and I need it right NOW!!!  See you at the stores!

Feeling like myself again…

OK, well once the excitement of the “new me” (new head, new body, new skin) wore off, I realized that it really didn’t feel like ME.  I’ve changed looks, heads and bodies so many times in my 16+ years in SL that I’ve lost track, but when I watch a slideshow of my life (yes, there’s one running all the time on my porch lol) it just seems like a natural progression, of a maturing look.  This last look veered off into territory that I THOUGHT I wanted, but when it came right down to it, I just didn’t sit right. So, I mark it as a failed experiment, and have gone back to my “old” well-loved head but with a few tweaks to capture a bit of what attracted me to the new one… will they last, only time will tell.  The body, on the other hand, I’m keeping (though my lack of shoes is both annoying and getting expensive lol), but again with modifications… I was never a “skinny mini” but I’m not comfortable being as full-blown as my first “final shape” was either.  There’s definitely an art to sculpting the “right look”, with “right” being defined by what strikes that inner chord and makes you feel amazing.  And of course as a blogger, I’m constantly tweaking that shape to better show an outfit or to use a pose (arms and hands are constant issues lol)… it should only be so easy in real life lol!  So, the newly re-improved Ceja is finally done (again), and can relax and enjoy that cup of coffee… and then maybe do some shopping? Till the next time!

Snow is so magical, at least when it’s newfallen and unspoiled.  Even though I live in the land of eternal summer (both my fae home & IRL), I am still enchanted by it.  That hush and quiet (until the snowblowers start at least), that beautiful stillness which can occur…  imagine having that at your command, to make everything still and clean and white, untouched, “pure as the driven snow…”

It’s January 1st of a new year, the partying is over, and it’s time to get back to real life.  My year started with (a) my FlickR PRO disappearing (wouldn’t you think that automatic renewal would initiate RENEWAL???) and (b) my Netflix freaking out… what will tomorrow bring lol?  But I’m having fun with the Twilight Zone marathon running in the background (I watch it every year!!!), and at least here on the grid things seem to be normal (for now, at least, though I’ll be thrilled once all these holiday images are over lol).  Happy New Year to everyone… may it be a year filled with health, happiness, prosperity, and FUN! I had a dream.  It was a strange dream, filled with sights and sounds totally beyond my comprehension.  And in that dream, there was a young fae who totally captured my attention, a fae who was so much like me, that I somehow knew, KNEW, was a future Thea… how many centuries would it be before her lifetime, I had no idea. But I knew with absolute certainty that she embodied all the values that I hold dear… that she was defending the defenseless, championing those who needed a champion, protecting her tribe and her community from all threats, doing what was right.  My heart swelled at the sight of this slim fae, wielding what I recognized as a weapon, in her role of protector.  I awoke smiling, refreshed and renewed in my commitment, knowing that as the earth neared the completion of its rotation around the sun, I was afforded a glimpse down the centuries to see my continuing legacy, hoping that this window into the future was not a one-time thing, but a new power that I had been granted. Only time will tell, but for now, I feel re-invigorated for my assigned duty to provide protection for the year-end celebrations.  Happy New Year to all!

And now we are on the build-up to a new year, creating a madness of its own.  For many who traveled for Christmas, now there’s the issue of traveling home… me, I stay put… after the traveling fiasco last year, I am done.  For me, it’s no way to spend a birthday, no way to spend a holiday.  I much prefer to stay home and join with family and friends via Facetime, but then I’m old and crotchety lol…  Now the mad scramble to get everything done before the year flips over, taking advantage of all those end-of-year sales… Happy shopping!

My plan on setting out was to do a wintry, holidayesque scene, suitable for a fae.  But I listened to the call of the outfit, and it led me to the desert…  where winter is not quite the same!  But we fae are everywhere, even in these dry climes, though we do tend to stay more around the oasis.  However, when the holidays near, we often must cross the sands to join family, friends, and those yet to be friends for celebration.  Now, it’s time for me to put my camel to bed and go rock the casbah (and yes, mixing lyrics for the HUMAN songs, but they go together in the more apropos fae tunes)… Happy shopping!
