Summer seems to be officially over here in the real world, even where I live in Florida.  And SL is changing too; I logged in a few days ago to find that my estate owners had changed the season to fall… I absolutely love it, all those autumnal colors, but it was still a bit of a shock.  Personally, my tanned skin has given way to a less sunkissed look,  and long sleeves have worked their way back into the front of my closet!  I’m still trying to hang on to those last breaths of summer but I know that soon enough I’ll be revelling in the crispness of the fall!  Happy shopping!!!!

I am Thea. No longer the name given to me at birth, Chrysanthea. That girl I once was is no more. Now, I’m an outcast, adrift far from those I once thought family, friends.  My name has evolved to something simpler. Something less defined, that allows more growth, more exploration, both of self and of the lands around me.  I have been asleep for many years, after wandering aimlessly in a wasteland after most of the elvenfolk sailed off for different worlds.  But one dream refused to die and eventually woke me, the dream of my beloved.  Now I wander the gardens of this glorious new land, bewitched and longing for the day when we will hopefully walk them together.  These gardens that are only part of the wonder at Fantasy Faire 2020, open through May 10th.

Queensgarden, sponsored by The NeoVictoria Project, is just one of 18 regions at Fantasy Faire.  Although there are 13 shopping regions, this isn’t one of them.  This is one of the 5 Faireland realms that take us beyond commerce; it’s where the Fairelands Quest is based (information on the Quest, the Bard Queen’s Garden, is HERE).  But whether or not you join the quest, I have to say that for a wandering fae or anyone who appreciates beauty, it’s an area that just beckons exploration.  Of course, Fantasy Faire is a Relay for Life event, so in addition to exploring, please be sure to do some shopping with a purpose as well.

It really is amazing how you can be in Second Life for seemingly forever (11+ years for me!), and then you stumble upon something so simple you can’t believe you never knew about it before.  Today’s example (and believe me, it’s only the latest), is Teleport History… I just never knew it was there. I’d forgotten to take a landmark after my photo shoot, and was bemoaning the fact when I relogged back on later in the day to get slurls, etc. for this post. Sneak Preview: Sierra

There’s nothing more exciting than when a new bento head enters the marketplace, and Sierra will definitely stir up a buzz! Tonic’s second bento head offers her own unique look.  Yes, I’ve modified her shape a bit, but other than that, this is Sierra right out of the box! Her big eyes may seem innocent but she comes “fully loaded”, with skin in 10 tones (both with and without freckles) and multiple brow color options, eyes in 7 colors (or yes, you can wear your own if you prefer), 5 different styles of eyelashes, lipstick (7 colors), eyeshadow (7 colors), even two styles of blush.  And that’s just the start, because the HUD ALSO provides 12 animations, an eye-positioner that can hold the eyes in position even when the HUD is closed (phenomenal for taking pix!), 14 static expressions, and more.  You’ll also get a fully modifiable starter head shape and eyebrow shape.  But you can’t get Sierra yet… you’ll have to wait till her debut at the MBA Fair on August 1st where she’ll be 50% off till the fair closes on the 21st, then return to the main store at it’s normal price. .

The Accidental Blogger

This is one of those totally unplanned, accidental blog posts. There I was, just wandering the aisles at the new Swank event, when I came upon a very inviting set. I chose to accept the invitation and try out the comfy-looking cuddle boat for a quick recharge.  Since I’m a total bookworm, who never ever leaves the house without a book (and I do mean a REAL book, not an e-book), I was immediately taken by the first singles anim, because this IS me in real life… finding a comfy little spot, pulling out my book, and taking a reading break, no matter where I am. I’m one of those people who love Etymology, the origin of words.  I find it fascinating how words and phrases make it into our daily lexicon.  For instance, did you ever wonder where the term “Happy Hour” came from? It sprang from the mind of some marketing guru, and spread like wildfire throughout our society.  It’s one of those terms that really grates when you think about it… who wants to be happy for just an hour? and is happiness really based on discounted food and drink? Or, as I believe, are there different levels of happiness, and happiness itself is a transient state?  Well, enough philosophizing… all I know is that this flirty little dress in this beautiful silk pattern feels like a summer breeze and always makes me happy, even more so when my partner commented on date night how exceptionally pretty it was on me.  Not to mention, it’s Happy Hour somewhere on the grid and in RL… so let’s start getting happy!

I’m heading off to the beach today in RL, and all I can say is that it takes an awful lot more work than on the grid.  Inworld there’s no driving, no traffic, no lotions, no red flags… all it takes for a perfect time at the beach is a sensational bikini, sunglasses, some kind of floatie, flip flops, and a hat… then a quick TP to find my perfect spot in the sun!  Sighs… if only it was this easy in RL… and if only I looked this good!

This is one of those outfits that I wanted the moment I saw it, and was just thrilled that it not only came in Tonic sizes but was from a designer whose sizes always fit like they should! The lo-cut, off-shoulder blouse has a wonderful finishing edge, and just looks like it would be incredibly soft to the touch. The cute little shorts are hi-cut in the rear, and unzipped in the front to not only make room for that post-partying bloat, but also to show a glorious inside fabric that matches the teeny thong. And of course there’s a HUD for everything, so you can pick the color/pattern combination you prefer (and let me say, it was NOT an easy choice).
