Maybe it’s because I’m more active; maybe it’s because I’ve gotten to “that age”; maybe it’s because I’m no longer working.  All I know is that I’ve discovered the attraction of the afternoon nap.  And it’s not like I intentionally go take a nap; generally after a busy day, I’ll go to sit and read for a while in the sun, putting my feet up to give them a rest, and I’ll close my eyes for just a moment to soak in the sun… and then the next moment is an hour or on rare occasion when I’m really tired, two hours later.  Cats are very wise creatures; dozing in the sun is very refreshing to body, mind, and soul…  mmm, I see a glorious spot of sun on the lanai just calling my name.  Might be time for a nap lol!  Happy shopping!

A Fountain of Succulents

Succulent plants have such a different look about them.  A succulent is defined as “a plant with parts that are thickened, fleshy, and engorged, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions.”  Most people think of cactus when they think of succulents, but that’s actually just one kind of succulent, and even among cacti there are many MANY varieties.    I’ve recently begun to truly appreciate the beauty of succulents since so many of my neighbors have them growing in their yards.  I’ve been toying with the idea of planting a giant prickly pear cactus because they’re so gorgeous when they bloom.  If I had the option to buy this fountain in real life, I would totally put it on my patio… it’s that stunning!  Happy shopping!

It’s the Simple Things

It’s so easy to get caught up in all the messy little details of life, from the major issues of the day to pulling together taxes to finally cleaning out that closet, unpacking that mystery box, or even what to make for dinner.  Lately I’m working on my mindfulness, to fully surrender and just BE fully there in the moment… feeling the sun on my face, the grass between my toes, the birds chattering in the trees, the sound of the rain on the roof, the strains of a violin, whatever is in that particular moment.  I’m finding it calming, centering, refreshing, and definitely a nice little break from all the stress I tend to place upon myself.   In perfect alignment with the brand name, I found that the animations in the stone set shown here are full of those simple moments, from enjoying a cup of coffee, eating some grapes, reading a book, and just plain old relaxing.  I didn’t get a chance to play with the couple animations, but I’m sure that there’s some “splendor in the grass” included in the adult version!  And on that note, happy shopping!

I don’t know about you, but I’m weary of all this curtailed activity.  Yes, I’m now vaccinated, and yes I’m living in an area where year-round outdoor activity is possible, and yes I’m in a community where just about everyone is active, but come on… I want to go to a party, not a spaced-out get-together in someone’s driveway  where everyone brings their own food/drink.  I want to go to a live music event where I don’t have to sit in my car/golf cart at a distance.  I want to go back to museums and movies and yes, I want to go to DisneyWorld now that I’m relatively nearby.  And of course, yes, I could decide to do all these things, but I’m not a COVID denier, I’m definitely a confirmed mask wearer, and I see what my friends in Europe are going through and I feel lucky.  I believe in the science, but I’m also human (at least IRL lol) and I’ve just had enough, and want what I want when I want it!  Nothing is going to change by venting about it, but at least now I’ll feel a teeny bit better having shouted my frustration to the world!  Sighs, at least I can freely socialize and move about here on the grid, but let’s face it, it is definitely time to get this party started!!!  (Oh and of course, happy shopping!)

Life definitely seems to be in free fall.  Like kids at summer camp, we’re busy running around trying all kinds of new activities.  At this point, almost all of them are physical since “mental” activities tend to be indoors which means most either aren’t happening yet or I won’t feel comfortable enough until the two weeks have passed since I got my 2nd vaccine.  And therein lies the problem… mentally we’re totally into bouncing from new activity to new activity… physically our bodies are going “whoa baby, let’s talk about this”.  I’m gimping around a bit, and am almost ready (I think) to try out my new bicycle again (seat was too low and I really hurt my knee last time); hubs is in horrible pain from something he did to his hamstring.  Urgent Care didn’t help; waiting for a doctor appointment now, but it’s been a couple of weeks of non-activity with incredible pain for him.  This has necessarily meant that I’ve needed to temporarily take over all the chores and errands he normally handles, plus wait on him as much as he’ll allow… On top of that, I tried taking apart my desk chair to try to figure out the type of gas cylinder it needs (no manufacturer name on the chair, how is that possible lol), it’s still in pieces on the floor (I’m not the most mechanically minded), so I’m sitting on a highly uncomfortable bridge chair…  All of this creating a situation where being inworld, let alone blogging, has been more difficult.  Free falling, indeed!  But despite all that, absolutely no way I would miss this absolutely adorable little outfit (and neither should you!)…  and on that note, happy shopping!

Well once again I’ve missed several days of blogging, but the good new is that I am now fully vaccinated!  It is amazing though… where I live, people were scrambling to get appointments for the shot (including us); now, it’s incredibly easy to get an appointment.  Not only that, before you took what you got, no matter how far the drive, no matter which shot it was. Now there’s a luxury of choices… close locations, whichever brand of vaccine you prefer.  I didn’t have too much of a reaction to shot #2; yes, I still can’t really lift my arm after a few days, but other than that I reacted much better than I did to shot #1.  What’s been even harder for me to deal with in the world of blogging though is that my desk chair — my new, awesome desk chair that I picked up at a consignment shop last month — has suddenly “dropped”… it seems that it needs a replacement gas canister, but until that’s handled, I’m so low at the desk that it’s hard to type lol… I feel almost like a little kid sitting at the grownup desk. That said, I’m trying to take maximum advantage of my time inworld since the combination of a sore arm and having to reach up to type are not the best combination for relaxation and enjoyment lol! (Not that something little like that will keep this girl from shopping!!!)  Lots and lots of great events going on right now, with loads of fabulous items.  Here are just a few…
