There’s nothing quite like the feel of walking barefoot in the sand… or that “oops” feeling when the sand ends and you need to scramble over rocks or gravel or shells or splintering docks.  Sadly, I can no longer go barefoot IRL, my poor feet and ankles  just can’t take it any more, but here on the grid, I can go shoeless to my heart’s content!  So here I go a-wanderin’, along the beach, over the rocks, exploring wherever my feet take me!

I’ve never been a morning person, I’m a night owl through and through.  Most people I know go to bed around 10 or 11P… me, since I no longer have to catch that early commuter train, I’m usually up to 1A or 2A.  Many days I get to wake up when I wake up, no alarms, no pressing necessities.  (Early golf dates are one of the few exceptions lol!)  But however long I sleep, I’m still a bit cranky upon waking.  I need that morning coffee tp humanize myself so that I can actually face life head-on and deal with whatever (and whomever!) comes my way… sighs, mmmm coffee…

Is there anything better than that refreshing breeze by the water in summer?  No matter how hot it is outside (and down here in FL, it’s already hot much of the time), that ocean breeze can have just enough of chill to make you scramble for a sweatshirt or — as here in my pic — a shrug, just to keep your arms warm.  Sighs, oh to be by the ocean, rather than ensconced in an air-conditioned house, looking at all that beauty and heat outside lol… oh well, that’s what internet shopping is for!!!  Enjoy!

Cats. Dogs. Birds. I love them all! And I have them all both in SL and IRL (though admittedly they’re a lot less work in SL lol).  I just find that they give so much, and there’s nothing quite like sitting there petting a soft furry body to calm you down.  Of course, kittens and puppies are the exception in a lot of ways, because they’re anything BUT calming unless sound asleep.  So little ones are restricted to the grid where they have an additional advantage… they stay little!  But to me, they are part of what makes a home, and my home in SL matters a great deal to me.  Since I’ve had this particular home way more than a year, my time working on it is restricted to updates and slight re-dos.  Not a lot of changes to be made (except for season change, but that’s a whole other story!), which is why the rugs featured here were rather earth-shattering for me… gave both rooms what feels like a total refresh, and that’s, well, refreshing!!!  A bit tough to capture in a photo, but in working that camera I found that it really sets off my look as well!!  Happy shopping!

You’ve heard of the proverbial “green thumb”?  I’m almost, but thankfully not quite, the antithesis.  As a city girl, born and bred, growing things was just something totally alien to me.  I don’t like bugs, I don’t like dirt, and I definitely don’t like worms… on top of that, I’m exceptionally prone to rashes, so although I do some weeding (which is an absolute must down here in Florida) and I “advise” on plants, I leave it to my husband to grow things that we actually eat.  That said, I’m a huge fan of homegrown veggies… they just have so much more flavor than what you can buy in the stores.  However, due to lack of skill (and probably patience as well), I frequent roadside stands etc of those who actually know what they’re doing!  I’m much better at shopping lol!

Getting formal is so alien to my lifestyle that it’s both a fun treat and a somewhat difficult exercise.  But when an outfit just has that extra-something that makes it a completely different look from anything you’ve done before, well, why resist temptation???  I will admit though… formal shots are a challenge (as is any formal event IRL as well)… And of course it’s always the ideas in your head… the color I chose for this is not that different from what I wore as the mother-of-the-bride when my daughter got married… and THAT of course got me thinking about using a wedding venue or the bride’s room for getting ready.  I disappeared down that rabbit hole for several hours before reversing direction because after all, the focus is on the LOOK and not on the setting.  But boy, do I really need a glass of champagne!

Thea has been a very pushy fae the last few weeks, taking over almost of my time IRL and Flickr.  Then again, Fantasy Faire is her most special time of year, so in a way I’ve been enjoying the equivalent of a short vacation, barely even logging in as human.  I’ve found it very refreshing, with that step back enabling me to cast a critical eye over my appearance, and make some (necessary?) tweaks here and there, in preparation for moving to my summer — i.e. tanned — skin.  That said, errands still need to be run and (most importantly!) shopping needs to be done.  Maybe I’ll see you in town!!!
