Mornings.  I’m definitely not a morning person, as everyone who’s ever known me knows very very well.  (That, and don’t call me when Jeopardy is on lol!)  I do prefer seeing morning break from the other side, where it’s the end of the day rather than the beginning, but I’ll admit that THAT happens less and less often… the older I get, the more I just seem to fall asleep wherever I am… but that’s ok, I get to see all hours, all weather, all everything, here on the grid…  and in a lot of ways, it’s a lot easier if not quite as satisfying as seeing those streaks start across the sky and then reach the point where they hit my face dead on… that first warmth and brightness is delicious… but not enough to get up for every morning (maybe that’s part of what makes it so very delicious is that I experience it so rarely???)…  Well, I’m up today, and time’s a wastin’ as I sit here and prattle on…  Need to  go do some shopping!!!  Enjoy!

I’ve been sitting here on my cloud, wishing on a star (whose power I’ve now captured in my orb!) to be able to get back inworld.  My poor human has been so sick that inworld time has been severely limited but finally, FINALLY!!!, I made it in for just a few hours of fae time (not to mention fae shopping lol)…  And I have accomplished so much with my limited time, it’s sooooo very good to be back!  Beats my wings with joy, and runs off to see what the new year has already brung!

With all the turmoil and hate in the world, not to mention the never-ending barrage of commercialization, it can be hard to find (and hold onto) that joyous and inclusive feeling of the holidays.  And don’t get me wrong… I LOVE all the shopping and the beautiful holiday and wintry sims to explore… it’s more in the real world, that sometimes tends to seep even into our idealized fantasy world.  That spirit of the holidays just gets lost all too often behind all the trappings and yes, even the politics.  So I’m out there trying to shine my tiny little light in the darkness, helping to find that elusive spirit of the holidays, wherever it may be…

This will be my last fantasy post this year… throws a huge handful of fairy dust, wishing you the best of the holidays and a happy transition to the new year!!!

Feeling Lucky

A double entendre?  Definitely… a question for you and an absolute statement for ME.  It’s been quite the week.  If you follow my blog at all, then you know I live in central Florida.  It was a scary week.  First preparing for a major storm that was going to hit the state somewhere on the Gulf Coast and then head inland, but no one really knew for sure where.  It was my first major storm since moving here almost 2 years ago, so we had no pre-storm routine & no knowledge of all the “what-to-do ifs” that we had learned the hard way in our prior home that we lived in for years and years and even more years.  Then there was the storm itself.  I couldn’t believe the wind… it woke me up in the middle of the night (and just about everyone I’ve talked to in the neighborhood).  And all the rain!!  And we were lucky, so very very lucky.  The storm shifted southwards the day before, taking us out of the  direct path and just leaving us with all that wind and rain.  We dodged an incredibly destructive bullet, and came through unscathed except for intermittent loss of tv/internet (and therefore, no SL) and some standard storm debris.  But my heart breaks and I even feel a small version of “survivor’s guilt” when I see all the news about those poor people who did get hit by that southerly shift.  The wheel of fortune, the luck of the draw, a game of craps, whatever you want to call it, so many things in life — the good AND the bad — are just random, no rhyme nor reason to the whys and wherefores.  I count my blessings that I was lucky… this time.  And that’s a sobering thought…

It’s another one of those days when I find myself in a strange place, not particularly wanting to chat about anything, just aching to return to my world and explore and create and indulge my newest passion of building (whether that will eventually become something I share overtly is yet to be seen, but my backdrops have made it into a few of my pics already, just without any fanfare).  But that is part of the magic of fairies… we say so much without actually uttering much of anything…  Sprinkles a little fairy dust, and happily goes on my way, still pondering whether I’m catching or releasing my diminutive cousin…

The Summer Wind

The end of summer is just about here.  Down south where I live the kids are already back at school; soon the snowbirds will begin to return (which means so will the traffic lol and the crowded restaurants).  And here on the grid, it definitely won’t be long before we’re sporting fall styles in the midst of swirling autumn leaves.  Part of me is sad to bid summer goodbye, but part of me can’t wait for all the crispness and colors of fall… of course, living in Florida like I do, the crispness is more in my head than in the actual weather lol, but I have a good memory and can easily recall all those years up in NY…  But for now, the summer wind is still blowing gently, and it’s time to “take a dip”!  Happy shopping!!!!

I’ve been such a busy fae!  For some reason, I got the urge to redo my land, so I’ve been digging through storage, unearthing lost treasures, tossing out other items that no longer capture my imagination, and just taking a fresh look at everything around me.  I’m considering some extensive renovation, lowering a large section of my mountain, but that definitely requires more thought than the quick impulse that had me about to start demolition, because once started, there’s no going back!!!! (Why isn’t there an UNDO button when it comes to editing the land????)  Just as well though… I needed more practice working with my orb so that I know how to harness its power when needed.  And then of course I’m off to all  the new and soon-ending events, because what fae ever has enough???
