My wings are drooping, I’m so exhausted from my initial explorations of the Fantasy Faire and all its wonders! But oh, such wonderful exhaustion, there’s just so much to see and do, and of course, buy!  I very VERY recently moved to new land, so I’ve been visualizing so many of these wonders at my home, counting prims, making trade-offs… sighs, if only I could have it all!  I’ll have to once again start searching for a spell that will magically make prims not count!!! But oh, it all looks so lovely!  Here’s just a small corner that I’ve created using items from 5 fantastic vendors…  there’s a handy link to every Faire land, to every store, right HERE, but I’ve added direct links to each of the booths for the items I’m featuring.  Happy shopping, happy exploring, and above all, remember that the Fantasy Faire is a Relay for Life event, so many purchases are also a donation to this worthwhile cause!!!!   • Grey’s Mind Maze – Strange Eggs Elemental.  Totally unique & startlingly beautiful, each egg element consists of a glowing egg in what looks like goblin fingers, together with flat disk flowers in the same color palette.  Three of the four versions (air, water, fire, earth) are shown (left front, right front, & right back); all have a built-in resizer.  The fatpack is an RFL Donation item, only at the Faire store in The Amethyst Rift, located HERE.

  • The Olde Attic – In Our Darkest Hour, Search for the Light.  Shown at far right.  A twisting white vine wrapped around a column supporting the Fantasy Faire symbol, together with a few thin, long-stemmed wildflowers & mushrooms at the base of the tree, plus some colorful butterflies flying around the symbol.  Simply beautiful!  Available at the Faire store in Ostara, located HERE.

It’s been another rough week IRL; hubby is having back surgery tomorrow… scary, but hopefully it will resolve this last round of major issues.  On top of that, it has been pouring for days, with several more days to come.  Since my body is a walking barometer, it hasn’t been much fun at all… even typing has been difficult!  Since my dog simply cannot abide getting wet, her walking schedule is completely out the window, instead being dictated by breaks in the rain from downpour to drizzle or even a few wild moments of no drops at all.  Hopefully all of this negative stuff will be done by the end of the week, and I can get back to important things like golf lol!  One thing that hasn’t stopped, of course, is shopping!!!!  Let me spread the joy lol, with some fabulous finds…  Happy shopping!

It’s been a while since I blogged, at least in terms of my normal schedule (which has in itself been lessened of late).  We’re back in medical mode, with lots of doctor’s appointments and all the stress of dealing with yet another unknown.  It didn’t take all that long for us to discover that  the meds and injections weren’t going to accomplish anything beyond very short-term relief, but we’ve lucked out considering some of the alternatives. Hubby is now scheduled for an outpatient orthoscopic procedure on his back, so things can hopefully start getting back to normal by the middle of next week.  Of course I then want to start dealing with my own physical issues lol, but thankfully none of them are as serious or painful as what he has had to endure, but my thinking is that pain is pain, and it’s better to deal with it before getting to that stage.  In any case, I found some lovely items for relaxing casual wear, which is perfect for my life at the moment (not that I could ever in a million years wear anything like this IRL lol)… and for some reason, this shot totally reminded me of a book I read with my daughter years and years ago (in her horse phase) about a horse named Misty on Chincoteague Island.  We even did a little family vacation there in order to show her the wild horses!  Years and years ago; I do hope the horses are still there, I know they were disappearing as civilization moved in closer and closer to their habitat.  But this little foal is doing well, making friends…  Have a great weekend, filled with lots of happy shopping!

Now that I’ve moved to the south and am much more active, I’ve started dieting.  Took me just over a month to lose the 10 pounds I’d put on during my COVID hibernation! Not that I’m stopping there, although I’ve made sure that I’ve totally realized and accepted that my figure will never EVER approach the one(s) that I have here on the grid.  Wouldn’t it be awesome if somehow we all had body sliders in real life? I sincerely doubt that will EVER be a reality, but it is amazing how much better and energetic I feel since I’ve started really settling in to my new home.  I’m always ready to go try some new activity and just keep busy, while keeping a watchful eye not to overdo to the point where I end up sidelined for weeks or more.  I’m also learning to integrate my blogging time better into my schedule, which will hopefully lead to a more reasonable schedule of posts!  Glances at my FitBit… time to get hoppin’ to the next activity! (I know, I know, but I HAD to have at least one reference lol!)  Happy shopping!

Happy Easter!  I have to say, I’ve never quite understood the relationship of bunnies to eggs, or how they relate to the whole meaning of Easter.  My understanding is that it’s linked to some pagan rituals about spring and rebirth that were “adopted”, but I’m sure the exact roots of the traditions are long lost in the annals of history and lore.  (And I won’t even get started about how chocolate got into the mix let alone dressing up like a Playboy bunny for Easter in SL.)  All of that said, I did dig through my inventory to find the most amazing scripted bunny ears and tail that wiggle and move, and have a life of their own, in order to have a little dress up fun for the holiday.  So many fun items out there, especially at the Evil Bunny Hunt  that I’ve decided to dedicate two blog posts to highlight just a few.  Now get hoppin’ on all that fun shoppin’!  (The Evil Bunny Hunt runs from April 3rd – 30th; you can see all the items & their hints HERE.  The hunt consists of evil and nice eggs, designers choosing which theme they prefer. Maybe it’s because I’m more active; maybe it’s because I’ve gotten to “that age”; maybe it’s because I’m no longer working.  All I know is that I’ve discovered the attraction of the afternoon nap.  And it’s not like I intentionally go take a nap; generally after a busy day, I’ll go to sit and read for a while in the sun, putting my feet up to give them a rest, and I’ll close my eyes for just a moment to soak in the sun… and then the next moment is an hour or on rare occasion when I’m really tired, two hours later.  Cats are very wise creatures; dozing in the sun is very refreshing to body, mind, and soul…  mmm, I see a glorious spot of sun on the lanai just calling my name.  Might be time for a nap lol!  Happy shopping!

A Fountain of Succulents

Succulent plants have such a different look about them.  A succulent is defined as “a plant with parts that are thickened, fleshy, and engorged, usually to retain water in arid climates or soil conditions.”  Most people think of cactus when they think of succulents, but that’s actually just one kind of succulent, and even among cacti there are many MANY varieties.    I’ve recently begun to truly appreciate the beauty of succulents since so many of my neighbors have them growing in their yards.  I’ve been toying with the idea of planting a giant prickly pear cactus because they’re so gorgeous when they bloom.  If I had the option to buy this fountain in real life, I would totally put it on my patio… it’s that stunning!  Happy shopping!

It’s so easy to get caught up in all the messy little details of life, from the major issues of the day to pulling together taxes to finally cleaning out that closet, unpacking that mystery box, or even what to make for dinner.  Lately I’m working on my mindfulness, to fully surrender and just BE fully there in the moment… feeling the sun on my face, the grass between my toes, the birds chattering in the trees, the sound of the rain on the roof, the strains of a violin, whatever is in that particular moment.  I’m finding it calming, centering, refreshing, and definitely a nice little break from all the stress I tend to place upon myself.   In perfect alignment with the brand name, I found that the animations in the stone set shown here are full of those simple moments, from enjoying a cup of coffee, eating some grapes, reading a book, and just plain old relaxing.  I didn’t get a chance to play with the couple animations, but I’m sure that there’s some “splendor in the grass” included in the adult version!  And on that note, happy shopping!
